Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! 🏳️‍⚧️

💗 The City of Marina is proud to honor March 31 as Transgender Day of Visibility. At its March 17 meeting, the City Council recognized the observance of as Transgender Day of Visibility in the City of Marina with an official resolution accepted by the Central Coast Democratic Socialists of America Trans and Bodily Autonomy Group, affirming its commitment to being a safe, welcoming and inclusive city for transgender and gender-diverse individuals.

🏳️‍⚧️ In addition to celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility, the City declared Marina to be a sanctuary city for the transgender community. The City will continue to uphold all civil rights protections, will not discriminate on the basis of gender identity or gender expression and will ensure that City policies and practices reflect respect and inclusion for transgender residents and employees.

🌟 We celebrate the resilience, contributions and achievements of transgender and gender-diverse people while raising awareness of the discrimination and barriers they continue to face. All residents are encouraged to observe this day with education, reflection and support for the transgender community.
