A message from Chief Borges:

I can confirm, this morning, Seaside PD assisted Sand City police at the conclusion of a car chase within their jurisdiction. At some point during the incident officers on scene fired their duty weapons. A Seaside officer was one of the officers who fired a weapon. As is normal protocol in an officer involved shooting, the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave and the MC District Attorney's Office has been called in to investigate the matter. Due to the DA's investigation, I am unable to provide additional details into the shooting at this time. I will be working with the DA's Office and City of Sand City to provide as much detail as we can to the public in the near future.

Congratulations Commander Pascone.
