Veterans For Peace Chapter 46 held our monthly "Operation North Star" action at the Naval Postgraduate School on August 13th. We stood at the gates urging military leaders to follow their conscience, reject unlawful orders, and oppose wars of choice fought for resource extraction, not defense.

A coalition of student activists and progressive civic groups in South Korea staged national protests at U.S. military bases around the country as part of 'U.S. Out of Korea' campaign.

Concurrently, on August 15th, anti-war and progressive groups held "US Out of Korea" solidarity rallies in five U.S. cities - L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, and New York.

Protesters are opposed to U.S.–South Korea joint military exercises like Ulchi Freedom Shield and are calling for ending the U.S. military presence.
