Cold Case Mystery Monday:

Justice for Antwan Tinsley 🕊️

On December 8, 1993, the warmth of a young life was brutally cut short. Antwan Tinsley was gunned down while walking in the 1600 block of Luxton Street—the very street he called home.

For over three decades, fear has kept the truth in the shadows. We know that back then, the violence in Seaside made people afraid to speak up. But times have changed, our community has grown stronger, and family and loved ones are still waiting for answers.

Fear shouldn't have the final say, and time shouldn't erase a life. Antwan deserves to rest in peace, and his loved ones deserve closure.

If you know something, no matter how small or insignificant it might seem, now is the time to find your courage. Your voice could be the missing piece.

Over the past few days, our Community Resource Specialists attended the PLECT (Professionalizing Law Enforcement Community Engagement Training) Conference in Dallas, Texas 🇨🇱. PLECT brings together law enforcement professionals from across the country to share innovative strategies, best practices, and ideas for strengthening relationships between police departments and the communities they serve.

Throughout the conference, our team participated in workshops and discussions focused on community engagement, problem-solving, and building meaningful partnerships. We also had the opportunity to connect with agencies from across the nation and exchange ideas.

We are excited to bring back new ideas, fresh perspectives, and valuable connections that will help us continue enhancing our community outreach efforts and making Seaside PD even stronger. 🤝🏼👮🏽‍♂️👮🏽

Yesterday, our department received a concerning report regarding a suspicious incident near San Lucas St and Olympia Ave. An adult male was reported following a young female and instructing her to get inside his truck, stating that "nothing bad would happen to her."

Thanks to the immediate response of our officers and vital cooperation from the neighborhood, we successfully retrieved area video footage.

Officers quickly identified the suspect as Alberto Ponciano (37) and he has been arrested.

We want to extend our deepest appreciation to the brave young victim who spoke up, our highly engaged community for providing the necessary leads, and our diligent police officers for working swiftly to bring this incident to a safe resolution.

🇺🇸 Cold Case (Memorial Day) Mystery Monday 🇺🇸🫡

Every veteran steps up willing to give everything for their country. But, veteran Judy Woodard’s life wasn’t taken on a distant battlefield—it was stolen right here at home, in a place she should have been safe. 💔
Forty-five years ago, on January 5, 1981, the young soldier stationed at Fort Ord was brutally attacked and murdered. Her body was left alone in a vacant lot near Broadway and Noche Buena in Seaside.
Judy served us. She stood for us. Yet for over four decades, her loved ones have been left waiting in the crushing silence of an unsolved heartbreak. They deserve answers. Judy deserves justice.
We cannot let her memory fade into the shadows. Someone out there knows something. Even the smallest detail, a memory you’ve carried for years, could be the key to bringing her home the peace she earned.
🕊️

If you have any information—no matter how minor it seems—please speak up.
