This Welcoming Week, SeaTac is throwing open the doors for one big community celebration. This year's theme is Stories We Share, Courage to Connect. It's a day to slow down, meet the people who make our city home, and have some fun while we're at it.

There's something for everyone: henna tattoos, photo booths, hands-on activities with the King County Library System, live music, kids' activities, and food from local vendors. We'll also have resources and wraparound services on hand for immigrant families looking to connect with support in our community.

Want your kiddos to have fun, make friends, grow their imaginations and learn valuable community based lessons before and after school? Well guess what? Our before and after school program is packed full of organized and exciting options that will provide your child with a fun and safe place to be throughout the school year.

We don’t just watch your children; we engage them in recreational and educational activities that will make you feel confident that your child is safe and having a great time.

The program currently serves Bow Lake, Madrona, McMicken, and Impact Public Schools.

Registration is open for our free soccer program! Join our partners from Serve Ethiopians Washington in this 8-week soccer training program at North SeaTac Park Sept. 5-Oct. 24. Participants will develop their soccer skills through drills and technical practice.

This free program is open to all youth ages 7-14. Registration required. Call Parks and Recreation at 206-973-4680 for more information and to sign up.

Drop by SeaTac Des Moines Creek Park to take a walk along the trail and read the picture book, All Around Us by Xelena Gonzalez.

As you walk the path, panels will share the pages of the book. The story walk will be displayed Friday, August 14th thru Wednesday, September 30th.

If you want to read the story at home, stop by the library to check out a copy.
