⭐ Welcome Back, Greenwood Stars! ⭐

There is something magical about the beginning of a new school year. Freshly sharpened pencils, new classrooms, familiar faces, brand-new friendships, and hallways once again filled with the sounds of students learning, laughing, and growing. After a summer away, we are so excited to welcome our Greenwood Stars and families back for the 2026–27 school year!

For our returning students, welcome home. We hope you are excited to reconnect with friends, see favorite teachers and staff, and discover everything your new grade has in store. You've grown since we last saw you in June, and we can't wait to see where your curiosity, creativity, and confidence take you this year.

And to the students and families joining Greenwood for the very first time: we are so glad you're here. Whether you're beginning Pre-K or Kindergarten, transferring from another school, or simply new to our neighborhood, you are now part of the Greenwood community. We hope it won't take long before Greenwood begins to feel like home.

The year ahead will bring so many opportunities to learn, explore, celebrate, and come together. There will be classroom adventures and school traditions, performances and projects, community gatherings, the Back-to-School Picnic, Movie Night, Book Fair, Move Together, our Spring Auction Gala, and countless everyday moments in between. Some of the best memories of the year may come from the big celebrations, but many more will come from the little things: a new friend at recess, finally mastering something that once felt impossible, discovering a favorite book, making a teacher laugh, helping a classmate, or simply realizing how much you've grown.

That's what makes Greenwood so special.

Our school is more than a building. It is a community created every day by our students, teachers, staff, families, and volunteers. It's created when we show up for one another, welcome someone new, lend a hand, celebrate each other's successes, and make sure every child knows that they belong here.

And to all of our Greenwood parents and caregivers: you are an important part of this community, too. The Greenwood PTA is here to help bring our families together, support our students and staff, and make many of the programs, events, and traditions that enrich our children's school experience possible. There are so many ways to be part of it - whether you volunteer at an event, help in a classroom, attend a PTA meeting, support a fundraiser, share an idea or a skill, or simply come to a school event and connect with another family. There is no single "right" way to participate and no contribution is too small. We hope you'll find a way to be involved that works for you and your family, and we can't wait to build another wonderful year at Greenwood together.

As we begin this new year together, we hope every Greenwood student feels encouraged to be curious, to try new things, to make mistakes, to ask questions, to be kind, and to be exactly who they are. And we hope every family knows that there is a place for you in this community, too.

A whole new school year is waiting for us, filled with moments we haven't experienced yet, friendships we haven't made yet, things we haven't learned yet, and memories we haven't created yet.

Grade-Level Groups are now live in Konstella!

Greenwood Elementary parents & guardians: We’ve set up Grade-Level Groups to make it easier to connect with other families in your child’s grade, share information, ask questions, and stay in the loop.

Please take a minute to join your grade-level group:
Open the Konstella app → go to Social Groups → find your child’s grade → tap Join.
Have children in more than one grade? Join each of their grade-level groups!

A couple of important notes:
You must be signed up for Greenwood Elementary’s Konstella community before you can join a Grade-Level Group.
Our existing Facebook grade-level groups will eventually be archived, so now is a great time to make the move to Konstella. Joining your Konstella grade group will help make sure you don’t miss grade-level information, questions, or discussions as we transition away from Facebook.
We hope these groups will be a great way for Greenwood families to connect throughout the school year.

Greenwood Elementary is recruiting caring and responsible crossing guards to help keep our students safe on their way to and from school. As a school crossing guard, you’ll play a crucial role in our community by helping children cross the street safely and arrive at school ready to learn!

Konstella is Coming to Greenwood!

Over the next several weeks, families of current and incoming Greenwood Elementary students will begin receiving email invitations to join Konstella, Greenwood Elementary PTA's new communication platform.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Konstella will become the PTA's primary way to share:

To help everyone get familiar with Konstella before invitations begin arriving, we've attached our Greenwood Elementary Konstella Info Sheet. It walks you through everything you'll need to know - from creating your account and turning on notifications to finding events, joining committees, and staying connected throughout the school year.

A quick note about the QR codes

You may notice that the QR codes shown in the guide do not work. They have been intentionally scrambled because Konstella is a private community intended only for parents and legal guardians of current and incoming Greenwood Elementary students.
When your family's invitation is sent, you'll receive a personal invitation link that will allow you to join our Greenwood community securely.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to read through the guide now, so you'll be ready when invitations arrive.

Hi Greenwood Families,
Over the next few weeks, we'll be sending Konstella invitations to Greenwood families. Keep an eye on your inbox! For new families, we will also be offering opportunities to sign up via QR code, etc., in the near future so if you are new to the school, we will make sure you are included!
Konstella will be the Greenwood PTA's primary communication hub for sharing school news, event updates, volunteer opportunities, reminders, and other important information throughout the year. To make sure you don't miss any timely announcements, we encourage you to download the Konstella app and complete your registration as soon as you receive your invitation.
Don't worry if you don't know your child's classroom yet! Classroom assignments aren't released until a few days before school starts, so you won't be able to assign your student to a classroom right away. Go ahead and create your account now—you can easily update your child's classroom information once teacher assignments are announced.
A quick note about membership: Konstella is for Greenwood students' parents and legal guardians only. To help protect the privacy of our school community and keep communications relevant, please do not invite or register grandparents, other relatives, family friends, caregivers, or others. If they'd like to stay informed, we encourage you to share updates with them directly.
We'll be sending more information soon, including step-by-step set-up instructions, helpful tips, and answers to frequently asked questions to make getting started easy.

📣 Greenwood PTA Communications Are Moving to Konstella!

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, Greenwood Elementary PTA is transitioning our community communications to Konstella - a platform designed specifically to make school and PTA communication simpler and more organized.

As part of this transition:
• Individual grade-level Facebook groups will be phased out and sunset. Because every grade will have its own dedicated group within Konstella, we will not be creating a new Kindergarten Facebook group for incoming families.
• The Greenwood Elementary Facebook Discussion Group will remain active for now to help with the transition. We may eventually sunset this group as well, potentially sometime next year, once our community is fully established on Konstella.
• All Greenwood families will be invited to join Konstella before the start of the 2026–2027 school year. Once launched, Konstella will be the primary place to connect with your grade-level community and receive PTA communications, announcements, volunteer opportunities, event information, and more.

No action is needed yet! Watch for information about how to join Konstella before the new school year.

A Fond Farewell to the 2025–26 School Year

As we wrap up another incredible year at Greenwood Elementary, we want to take a moment to celebrate all that we've accomplished together. From the first day of school to Field Day, Movie Nights, community events, drama and musical school performances, the Move-and-Groove-A-Thon, the Book Fair, the Auction Gala, volunteer projects, staff appreciation events, and countless classroom activities, this year has been filled with learning, laughter, and connection. Our school community has shown up time and again to support students, teachers, and one another, making Greenwood such a special place to learn and grow.

A very special congratulations to our 5th-grade students as they prepare to take the next big step into middle school! We are so proud of all you have accomplished during your time at Greenwood. We know you will carry the kindness, curiosity, resilience, and community spirit you've developed here into your next adventure. Once a Greenwood Star, always a Greenwood Star. We wish you all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter.

One of the greatest gifts of Greenwood Elementary is our community. Year after year, families, staff, students, and volunteers come together to create a school that is warm, welcoming, inclusive, and deeply connected. Whether you've volunteered at an event, attended a PTA meeting, cheered on students, supported a fundraiser, or simply offered a helping hand to another family, you've helped make Greenwood the extraordinary community it is.

Thank you for a wonderful school year. We wish all our Greenwood families a summer filled with fun, adventure, relaxation, and time together. To our returning students and families, we can't wait to welcome you back in the fall. Have a terrific summer, and we'll see you in September!

Campy Greenwood, our auction fundraiser, starts next week with its amazing silent auction. Bid on weeks at summer camp, tickets to sports games, orthodontic treatment, and so much more! Greenwood Elementary School’s Biannual Fundraising Auction is back in March!

This fun, worthwhile event brings in money to support our Greenwood Elementary PTA and its many wonderful projects. The PTA provides funding for our school garden, our family care coordinator, classroom supplies and playground supervisors, our science fair, spelling bee, and so much more! The funds raised will support Greenwood students, teachers, staff, and families for two years and we need your help!

There will be an online, silent auction in early March and an in-person, live auction on March 18th. The theme is Camp(y) Greenwood, and we think you’ll have the time of your life.

Greenwood Community: want to donate?

Tickets to a play, concert, or sporting event
A piece of beautiful kid-created art
A delicious dessert
