This Monday we will be joining Minnesota Peace Action Coalition and the Free Palestine Coalition in saying no War with Iran. Come out and urge our politicians to end the arms shipments to Israel which will prevent the looming Regional War from happening.

Midwest M4PD is proud to support the movement to pass Defend the Guard legislation in Minnesota. As the Biden Administration announces hundreds of troops will be involved in the construction of a port off the coast of Gaza we can’t help but see the effects of the Authorisation of Use of Military Force (AUMF), passed during the Bush Administration, still playing a role in the current siege of Gaza. On top of that, hundreds of members of the Minnesota National Guard are being deployed to the Middle East and we believe this legislation is desperately needed to block that from happening.

Over a hundred people in the city of Minneapolis gathered outside Mayday Plaza in the West Bank to stand against the US and UK led air strikes on Yemen. Speakers from different backgrounds identified how the actions our government is taking is directly related to the solidarity the Yemeni people have demonstrated to the Palestinian people. Hands off Yemen!

Just moments ago, the United States government started conducting airstrikes on Yemen, the poorest nation in the Arab World. We are proud to endorse the solidarity rally for the March on Washington up in Duluth this weekend and our governments recent actions just gives us a whole another reason to come out to this event. We encourage everyone who is upset at the actions of our government to show up to tell our elected officials that we want a Ceasefire now, Hands off Yemen, and Long Live Palestine.

Yesterday October 28th we gathered to protest the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Gaza and Biden's continuing escalation of the situation as well as Tim Walz's decision to expand weapon manufacturing by allowing a Lockheed Martin subsidiary to conduct business in the Twin Cities area. We thank SPUSA, Nukewatch, and PSL for speaking at the event and raising awareness to our fellow citizens as well as the 40 people who showed up to make their voices heard. We urge all people to join in telling Tim Walz that Minnesota is not open for business to war profiteers and the US government must stop its funding of genocide!

At 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 4th, the Midwest chapter of Movement for People's Democracy hosted a vibrant anti-war demonstration entitled "Stop WW3: No to Nuclear Holocaust". The event's declared objectives included ending all U.S. proxy wars; ending punitive sanctions; disbanding NATO; and opposing U.S. provocations of both Russia and China.

Forty-five activists and concerned citizens convened at the intersection of Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis to challenge the western interventionism which could potentiate a nuclear exchange.

The assembled crowd partook in a series of animated chants, and applauded an eclectic mix of speakers. Speakers from the Anti-War Committee, SPUSA, Veterans for Peace, BLM MN, Twin Cities Assange Defense, Nukewatch, and MM4PD all called attention to various contributing factors to the looming nuclear war threat.

In his speech BLM MN advocate Trey Crews highlighted inextricable ties between domestic racism and inequity and our country's well-funded militaristic exploits abroad. Crews pronounced, "As we talk about defunding the police, we also want to talk about defunding the military industrial complex. We want to take money for war and give it back to the poor."

Nukewatch's Kelly Lundeen spoke to overlooked hazards that contributed to the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moving the Doomsday Clock to"ninety seconds to midnight" earlier this year. Lundeen said, "The threat isn't just nuclear arms - it's also nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is inherently dangerous and when it's in a war zone it's even more dangerous."

Movement for People's Democracy remains staunchly committed to addressing the underlying existential threats posed by the U.S. war machine and NATO. The Midwest chapter has endorsed Minnesota Peace Action Coalition's upcoming "Say No to U.S. Wars!" rally, which will be held outside Library Plaza in Minneapolis at 1 pm on March 18th.

Stop World War Three was endorsed by Women Against Military Madness, Veterans for Peace, Black Lives Matter MN, Twin Cities Assange Defense, SPUSA, Nukewatch, CPUSA, SCOTA, the Anti-war Committee, and MPAC.
