Community-supported art programs are popping up all over the country, demonstrating that the concept works just as well for art lovers as for locavores.

Another reminder to come to the Checkout Day tomorrow. Doors open at 6pm.

At West Seattle's old Frank B. Cooper School, past the main office and down the hall you'll find the library -- but there are no books to check out. Inside what's now a cultural center aren't shelves of books, but walls of art.

Pick up the latest issue of City Arts magazine, which I recommend anyway, it's always a great resource for Seattle arts and music. There is a superb photo diary in the online blog of the Art Lending Library in action. Thanks Nate Watters for the coverage.
