Spots still available for week-long Nature Day Camps at Carkeek and Discovery parks this summer! Kids age 6-12 will enjoy being outdoors and making friends while learning about forests, meadows, wetlands, and beaches. Carkeek's Earthkeepers camp features new themes each week; Discovery's Nature Adventure Trek has a set curriculum for each camp. Choose a week (or 2) between now and the end of August! The Associated Recreation Council is recruiting for enthusiastic and engaging Summer Environmental Educators and Lead Environmental Educators to join our teams at Discovery Park. The park offers extraordinary opportunities for nature adventures including forests, meadows, wetlands, creeks, and beach access. Summer Environmental Educator pay starts at $23/hour and Summer Lead Environmental Educator starts at $25/hour. Start date is ASAP with a season end date of August 21st. We love the Discovery Park Summer Beach Shuttle, and so do you! We're excited to share that the free shuttle has added more days and will now operate Thursdays through Sundays from June 20 through September 5, from 11 AM to 5:30 PM.

The shuttle loops between the East, North, and South Beach parking lots at Discovery Park, arriving at each stop approximately every 30 minutes, with the final departure from the beach at 5:15 PM.

The Discovery Park Summer Beach Shuttle is back for the 2026 season! The free shuttle operates on Saturdays from June 20 through September 5, from 11 AM to 5:30 PM.

The shuttle loops between the East, North, and South Beach parking lots at Discovery Park, arriving at each stop approximately every 30 minutes, with the final departure from the beach at 5:15 PM.

☀️ Summer is here! Looking for a fun, educational outdoor experience for your summer camp, scout troop, childcare program, or community group?

Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Environmental Education Team offers hands-on Nature Field Trips that help kids explore and connect with nature.

Our Environmental Education Naturalists can meet your group at Discovery Park, Camp Long, Carkeek Park, a Seattle beach, or a nearby park or green space.

Programs include:

🌲 Forests
🐦 Birds
🐞 Insects
🏖️ Beaches

Participants build curiosity, observation skills, and confidence while learning about Seattle’s plants, animals, and ecosystems.

💲 Cost:
• $225 for up to 30 participants
• $7.50 per participant after the first 30

💲 Scholarship Pricing Available:
• $75 for up to 30 participants
• $2.50 per participant after the first 30

Available for organized groups, including summer camps, scout troops, childcare programs, and community organizations.
