Cut from a Different Cloth Art Workshop
Cut From A Different Cloth is a guided mixed-media self-portrait workshop centered on self-love, confidence, and celebrating the beauty of who you are. Created as a self-portrait experience for everyone, this workshop invites participants to reflect on their identity, individuality, and the parts of themselves that deserve to be seen, honored, and celebrated.
Inspired by my signature faceless portrait style, guests will create vibrant, layered portraits that focus on expression beyond physical features. Rather than painting facial details, participants will use shape, color, pattern, texture, and symbolism to tell the story of who they are—what makes them unique, what makes them radiant, and what parts of themselves deserve more love.
In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, the workshop also incorporates tapa/ngatu-inspired collage elements as a way to celebrate storytelling through pattern, culture, and layered identity. Each finished piece becomes both a keepsake and a visual affirmation—a reminder to take up space, move with confidence, and honor the beauty of being themselves.
Using paint, collage, and intuitive mark-making, each participant will leave with a bold and meaningful self-portrait—a visual affirmation of confidence, creativity, and the beauty of taking up space.
