🔆Sure, the summer is almost over but the memories are forever. Our 2nd Annual Kidchella was an absolute success alongside our friend and partner Toys For Kids . With their support, we were able to bring in a stage, carnival games, and brand-new school supplies for our 41 Summer Academy students.

⭐Thank you, Toys for Kids, Summer Academy teachers, volunteers, Atlantic Street Center staff, and - of course - our kids!

If you have a child age 18 - 38 months, your family may be a great candidate for our Early Learning Program. Here's what this FREE program can do for you:⬇

📚 Your family is paired with an Early Learning Specialist that comes to your home on your schedule.
📚 Children receive free educational books and toys to keep.
📚 Parents/guardians are taught tactics so that they can be their child's first teacher.
📚 Children are taught social emotional skills as well as introduced to letters, numbers, and reading.
📚 The program concludes with a graduation ceremony for all participants.

⭐Props to Tabetha of our Behavioral Health Program. As a Case Manager, she supports enrolled participants and their families find specific resources that will improve their way of living. Just this summer, Tabetha collaborated with a participant in creating their resume, and it led to a job offer! She also helped secure ongoing grocery support to a family struggling with food insecurity.

💕We are thankful to foundry10, Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning, EASL, Light Smiths, and Element 7 for sponsoring the Annual Youth Fashion Show. This tradition is how Atlantic Street Center helps our kiddos develop their self-confidence right before the school year. 👟 👠

💕💕The youth are given a 💸budget💸 and we es**rt them to places like and so they can learn to create their own style. We also want to give a shoutout to local legend Macklemore for giving our kids more gear to dress up and make their own!

🍋💸The 5️⃣th Annual Lemonade Stand was another success!

🍋🍋It is a Summer Academy tradition for our older classes to create a budget, business plan, and the processes of running a lemonade stand. The younger students join in by creating their own products to sell alongside them. All the money raised through sales goes back into our Youth Development Program so the students can do more activities they love.💸

⭐Thank you to Andrew, one of our Summer Academy volunteers, who talked about his switch from engineering sales to nursing on his way to becoming a doctor. We also appreciate Aushanta of who spoke about moving from barista to HQ, and all the projects she manages across the area.

Our 2nd Annual Kidchella was a success. Our Summer Academy kiddos sang solos, showed off their dance moves, and premiered some original raps. Our partners Toys for Kids Seattle made sure to turn the event into a milestone with brand-new backpacks, school supplies, and water bottles.

Collaborations with Toys for Kids Seattle makes a huge difference in our programming. It's what brings our intentions to life. Together, we can bring stronger and more long-lasting impact to the youth in our communities. Thank you, TFK!
