Camp Long

Located in West Seattle, this 68-acre park offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy nature, hike in the forest, camp overnight in rustic cabins, rock climb, and team build on a challenge course. The camp, including the lodge, was built by the City of Seattle and the Federal Works Progress Administration (WPA) starting in 1937. SCHURMAN ROCK

WHO WANTS TO COME PLAY ON THE ENCHANTMENTS (to be clear, that is what we call our High Ropes Course at Camp Long, we are not talking about the area in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness:)?!?!

Many Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities and programs will be closed Thursday, June 4, 2026, due to a Recreation Division staff training day.

Most indoor facilities will be closed, while parks, sprayparks, golf courses, Mounger pool, and select swim beaches will remain open.

We hope everyone is SAFELY enjoying the snow we are getting. A reminder that with these heavy snow loads trees are VERY DANGEROUS in our beloved park! We have already had multiple come down so if you are coming to enjoy the snow we recommend the field like these kiddos are doing!!! Or drink some hot cocoa and enjoy the snowflakes from a window inside where it is warm and cozy:)
