We hope everyone is SAFELY enjoying the snow we are getting. A reminder that with these heavy snow loads trees are VERY DANGEROUS in our beloved park! We have already had multiple come down so if you are coming to enjoy the snow we recommend the field like these kiddos are doing!!! Or drink some hot cocoa and enjoy the snowflakes from a window inside where it is warm and cozy:)

We know it is cold out so if you do not want to stay in our cabins we get it, but what about escaping from one of them and learning some fun nature facts along the way...!!! See this event put on by SPR's own naturalists at our beloved Camp Long!!!

Hello Friends of Camp Long

Camp Long will be closed December 25th in observance of Christmas and January 1st in observance of New Years Day. We will start booking rentals and programs 1/6/26 when we are back in office. Until then we wish you a fun and safe holiday season.

The Trail or Treat event at Camp Long has been CANCELLED today (Saturday, Oct. 25) due to the weather conditions (strong winds and rain) that are in the forecast.

This park has an aging forest and is at high risk for downed trees and branches during high wind events.

"Historic Camp Long in West Seattle is a public park dating to the 1930s that’s long been a source of good memories for Seattleites young and old. When its ornate lodge was damaged by an arson fire in late 2024, there were concerns the structure might not be able to be saved. That’s when Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation stepped in."

Camp Long is temporarily CLOSED (Tuesday, 7/29) due to a brush fire. Please avoid the area as the Seattle Fire Department works to address the situation.

Mountain Fest is coming up this Saturday, June 21, at Camp Long in West Seattle!

It's a fun, free day of outdoor activities for the whole family, including rock climbing, bouldering, rappelling, nature walks, a scavenger hunt (with prizes), hanging out with raptors, and access to their high-ropes course.
