Uplift Northwest (formerly Millionair Club Charity) is a Seattle nonprofit providing jobs & job-readiness services to people experiencing poverty & homelessness. For nearly 100 years, Uplift Northwest has operated as a nonprofit temporary staffing organization with services geared to the needs of a person who is in poverty, or is homeless, and likely with little to no resources to become job-ready
. We believe a job is empowering and provides hope, strength, courage, confidence, purpose and an opportunity to stabilize one’s life. Income earned through these temporary jobs is the difference between starvation, eviction, and getting a person’s family off the streets. By removing barriers, we provide dignified work opportunities and support services to nearly 1,000 men and women annually experiencing poverty and homelessness – offering a job, a hot meal, a shower, laundry services, vision care, transportation passes, career coaching, medical, dental, cell phone, computer training and work certification, all in one location. In the past few years, hundreds of Uplift Northwest clients earned permanent job placements and housing referrals, and this translates to significant taxpayer dollars saved in public service expenses.
