Youth with disAbilities Rock! Come make new friends, discover youth activities, share personal stories and opinions, and seek advic Teaches people about their civil rights.

The Alliance of People with dis-Abilities facilitates a Youth and Young Adult Independence Group. This program provides opportunities for youth to explore and plan for life as an adult. Participants also have the chance to meet peers who live in King County. The Alliance Youth and Independence Group supports the self-determination of young people with disabilities, works with them to develop self–

advocacy and goal-setting skills and seeks to improve the long-term quality of life of all people with disabilities. Our Mission:
People with disAbilities advocating for equality and choice
The Alliance Youth and Independence Group:
Seeks to connect youth education, employment, housing, medical re-sources, and opportunities. Teaches goal-setting and problem-solving skills
Teaches youth to advocate for themselves. Promotes changes which will further the ability of individuals with disabilities to live the life they want with the level of support they need. Facilitates discussions on community integration and self-determination for people with disabilities. Customizes training on specific Independent Living Skills chosen by the Individual.
