Meet Jenny, one of West Seattle Tool Library’s board members!
Jenny’s current focus is fundraising to help WSTL bring new tools, programs, and services to the community.

She discovered WSTL after accidentally damaging a treasured family heirloom—a telegraph key that belonged to her late father. Fortunately, our Fix-It staff and volunteers helped repair it while sharing more about its history.

Outside WSTL, Jenny enjoys camping, bookstores, Wild Waves, drag shows, and a good cortado with her family.

Thank you, Jenny, for sharing your time, talents, and enthusiasm with WSTL!

Get ready for the new school year with a few DIY tasks: tune up a bike, repair lunch boxes and backpacks, or add a simple hook or organizer to keep school gear in place.

A few basic tools such as a screwdriver, adjustable wrench, pliers and a bike pump can come in handy for all kinds of small repairs and projects.

Not sure where to start? Drop in during a fix-it session and ask our volunteers for advice. We’re happy to help!

August Safety Tip

Summer projects often mean more time on a ladder—whether you're painting, cleaning gutters, trimming branches, or harvesting fruit from trees.

Always maintain three points of contact while climbing: two feet and one hand. It helps keep you stable and reduces the risk of falls.

Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your summer!

We're excited to share that the West Seattle Tool Library has received a $1,000 ReThink Waste Grant from Seattle Public Utilities and WM !

This funding will help us expand our Fix-It sessions, maintain and repair tools, and educate community members about the importance of repair, reuse, and keeping useful items out of the landfill.

Thank you to SPU, WM, our volunteers, and our members for making this work possible.

July's Safety Tip:

A pressure washer might look harmless, but high-pressure water can cause serious injuries.

Always keep the spray pointed away from yourself and others, wear closed-toe shoes and eye protection, and never test the pressure with your hand.

A clean project is great. A safe project is even better.
