Sharing a meal together is one of the best ways to get to know your neighbors!

We want you to join Queen Anne Helpline for a picnic on the Ave on August 27th at 6pm!

Swing by the Queen Anne Farmers' Market (or another neighborhood restaurant) for a dinner to-go or pack your own from home and meet us on the grass in front of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

No agenda, just community.

August 27th, 6-8pm
Bethany Presbyterian Church

Summer can be a weird season for a lot of us, August especially. Vacations, strange schedules, and hot weather throw off rhythms from the first half of the year.

For our resource center, it's also a time of year that's hard to keep the shelves stocked. We always have a few urgent needs we try to let you know about, but we have reached a point where we could really use a few folks who are willing to organize larger food drives.

Do you live in a larger apartment complex, have a neighborhood text thread, a faith community, or a summer sports league you're a part of? These are all great opportunities to bring folks together in support of Queen Anne Helpline.

We, of course, always encourage adding a few extra staples to your grocery or Costco trips, but if you have a place you could put our donation barrel, and some friends you could rally together, we have the space for some larger, bulk donations right now.

Contact our office by email at [email protected] to set up a drive.

This is a very empty picture of our very empty sorting table. Usually, it's piled high with clothing donations from our community (along with our food table right behind it).

But at the moment, here at the peak of summer and after a few very busy weeks of folks coming to the resource center, we need more of, well... everything.

We need men's pants and jeans, lightweight hoodies and jackets, men's shoes, linens of all sizes, and backpacks.

We also need canned green beans, chicken, tuna, and fruit, along with peanut butter (single serve packs and small jars), shelf-stable milk, single serve juices, and granola bars.

We're open on Monday from 10am - 2pm, and Thursday from 10am - 6pm, for donations.

We had a great time last weekend at our annual Run for Home 5k! On Saturday, July 18th we had 100 runners, joggers and walkers come together to raise more than $13,800 for eviction prevention and ensuring everyone has access to the foundational resources we all need to thrive.

You can still give through the event website through this weekend. Can we break $14,000? Link in the comments!
