PSRC achieved another milestone 🎊 Yesterday was our annual General Assembly, where assembly members gathered to adopt our 2026- 2027 Supplemental Biennial Budget and Work Program and Regional Transportation Plan!

At the meeting, we heard from PSRC President Dave Somers and PSRC VP Ryan Mello, hosted a panel on the Regional Transportation Plan’s vision and next steps, and a discussion on the future of the Puget Sound Economy. Thank you to the Boston Consulting Group, former Governor Chris Gregoire from Challenge Seattle, and Erik Nordstrom, CEO of Nordstrom, Kerri Schroeder, PNW Region Chair of JPMorganChase, and Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, for your insight on the economic future of this region.

A big thanks to our assembly members for attending this year. It was an event to remember!

May is Bike Everywhere Month! Did you know that Seattle was among the first cities in the United States to construct dedicated bicycling infrastructure, laying out around 25 miles of bike friendly paths?

Bike Everywhere Month encourages Americans to get on their bike and ride to work, the grocery store or to just ride to enjoy the sunshine! PSRC has some exciting things planned for Bike Everywhere Month so stay tuned 🚲

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month 🌸

This year's theme is "Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together", highlighting the importance of collective power, telling our stories and being bridge builders in the community. Celebrate this month by honoring the rich legacy and culture that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders have contributed to the Puget Sound region.

PSRC is excited to support Pierce County Chambers Creek Bridge Replace Project as part of our new Bridge Funding Pilot Program! This program is designed to support strategic replacement or maintenance and preservation projects, helping to extend the life of bridges around the central Puget Sound region.

The Puget Sound Regional Council's Executive Board approved $7 million in new funding to advance Pierce County's Chambers Creek Bridge Replacement project.

The funding, approved last week, is part of PSRC’s new Bridge Funding Pilot program, which will support a handful of critical bridge projects in the Puget Sound region. The $7 million allocated to the Chambers Creek Bridge Replacement will fully fund the project’s design phase.

Replacing the aging, structurally deficient bridge will improve safety, enhance long-term reliability, and support the growing transportation needs of the surrounding communities.
