As we say goodbye to our JVs this week, the next JV we want to highlight is Cara Wiliams! Cara came to LIHI from Boston College and served as the Housing Advocacy and Community Engagement Coordinator. Here’s what Cara has to say about her year:

“I want to thank everyone at LIHI for all you’ve taught me this year. It has been such an incredible learning opportunity for me to witness how to make change at the policy level, how to organize effectively, how to tell stories impactfully, and how to lead while centering humanity. Spending my JV year at LIHI has been a life-changing experience, and the dedication, care, and resilience I’ve seen in my time at this organization will continue to inspire me for years to come.”

As our Jesuit Volunteers wrap up their final days of service, we want to highlight the amazing work they’ve done this year! First up is Molly Hardiman. She came to LIHI from Boston College and served as the Tiny House Village Essential Needs Coordinator. Here’s what Molly has to say about her year:

Working alongside people who lead with such compassion and embrace all of humanity with open arms has been such a gift. Therapeutic Health Services, a longstanding partner of LIHI, recently opened the Layne Staley Mobile Medical Unit (LSMMU). The LSMMU will bring substance use treatment to individuals in Tiny House Villages rather than requiring them to travel offsite to receive care, eliminating potential barriers to care. THS provides services to over 4,500 individuals per year in the Seattle area, and the LSMMU will only increase their impact🏠
