The City of Aurora has developed a first-of-its-kind plan focusing on many multi-million-dollar emergency services projects for its rapidly growing community.

"The city has grown by 40% over the last 20 years," Deputy City Manager Laura Perry explained, "so we invested in a Public Safety Capital Master Plan over a year ago that took a look at the needs of Aurora Fire Rescue as well as the Aurora Police Department."

TCA has worked alongside Colorado-based firm Roth Sheppard Architects to develop the City's Public Safety Capital Master Plan that will go before Aurora City Council in May.

Aurora Highlands is one of the newest communities in Aurora with hundreds of homes already built and many more under construction. Yet what isn't in the development yet is a fire station.

Nowhere are the effects of climate change felt more acutely than at a local level. Every action taken - large or small - to protect the Earth and its inhabitants is impactful; TCA plays its part by committing to sustainable design and paving the way to carbon neutrality and zero energy.

The Ann Arbor Fire Station 4 is an excellent reminder that protecting the planet is a shared responsibility. The new fire station will be the city's first carbon-neutral facility, with geothermal heating and cooling, rooftop photo-voltaic panels, solar carports, a SolarWall, on-site batteries storage system, DC fast charging for fire apparatus, and other energy-efficiency measures to support off-the-grid functionality. This project aligns with the City of Ann Arbor's A2ZERO Climate Action Plan, a community-wide goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2030.

While TCA strives to contribute to a greener future, there is still a long path forward. This , TCA takes the time to reflect on its role in local communities and the steps toward more sustainable design on a global level.

Bellevue Mini-City Hall is a small haven for the community nestled within the Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellevue, WA.

At Bellevue Mini-City Hall, residents have access to trusted resources and human connection to the city government when in need of government services, such as permits, planning, street maintenance, and utilities.

The new space features a spacious lobby, a self-service zone, a large community meeting room, and two additional meeting rooms for partner organizations to provide services.

TCA is driven by its passion for community and providing safe, accessible, and beautifully designed spaces for the public. We're proud to have been able to contribute to creating an inclusive community space that provides significant aid to its members.

TCA is proud to announce that the City of Kirkland Fire Station 27 has been selected for the Bronze Career 1 Station Design Award, distributed by Firehouse Magazine!

In its 11th year, the Firehouse Magazine Station Design Awards celebrate exceptional architectural design and sets the tone for the advancement of emergency services as a whole.

We recognize and appreciate the hard work of all our partners that made this project possible. Last week, the TCA team took a deeper look into the future of sustainable construction at the Washington Building Envelope Summit. With Washington energy codes changing this March, we were grateful to have the opportunity to hear from industry experts such as Ted Clifton on net-zero building design, and learn more about how Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) can be sustainable and more efficient energy-wise.
