Lieutenant Walter D. Kilgore, E10
FF James T. Brown, L7
Lieutenant Gregory A. Shoemaker, E13
FF Randall R. Terlicker, E13

On January 5, 1995, four Seattle Firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice in an arson fire that destroyed a warehouse in the city's International District. The firefighters were apart of a five-alarm response at approximately 7:00 p.m. to a working fire at 811 7th Avenue S, Pang International Foods, Inc., a wooden warehouse built in 1908. Which was set by the building's owner, Martin Pang. The response grew to involve more than 100 firefighters. The structure and a floor over a hidden basement collapsed taking the four lives. Kilgore, Brown and Terlicker – died of asphyxiation after their air cylinders emptied. Shoemaker, who lost his helmet and scba mask in the fall from the first floor, died of smoke inhalation. It took three days before the bodies of the fallen firefighters were recovered.
