GenPride

GenPride GenPride empowers LGBTQ+ seniors in King County through advocacy, education, and innovative programs that promote connection and wellness.

From social events to resources and support, we're building a community where everyone can age with pride. At GenPride we advocate for the unique needs of older LGBTQIA+ adults, offer innovative programs and services that promote wellbeing and prevent social isolation, cultivate belonging through community connection, and work to eliminate discrimination in all its forms.

Changes are coming to Apple Health / Medicaid

Starting October 1, some non-citizens ages 19 and older who currently qualify will no longer be eligible. And starting January 1, 2027, adults ages 19 to 64 will face new renewal timelines, work requirements, and reduced retroactive coverage.

Swipe through for what's changing and what to do next. If you think you may be affected, don't assume you've lost coverage. Many people still qualify through another program or exemption.

A note from Jaime, Community Giving Manager, at GenPride:

Community isn't just a word for a group of like-minded people, it's a feeling.

It’s that warmth you feel when love, strength, and mutual care come together to lift each other up. That spirit filled the GenPride Center this past Saturday when the Seattle Men in Leather showed up to flip pancakes at Pancake Daddy, share laughs, and rally meaningful support for our LGBTQ+ elders.

Grassroots efforts like this are the heartbeat of what keeps our programs thriving. Whether it's hosting a community breakfast, organizing a fundraiser with your club, or bringing your workplace together for a cause, there are so many creative ways to champion our seniors.

If you or your organization has an idea, a passion for organizing, or wants to team up with us to raise vital resources for GenPride, we would love to connect. Reach out, send a DM, or drop an email ([email protected]); let’s brainstorm what we can build together!

With deep gratitude,

Jaime Husmillo (he/him)
Community Giving Manager, GenPride

Today we lost an icon who never stopped showing up for us. Dolly Parton spent decades speaking up for LGBTQ+ people when it wasn't easy or popular, and so many of us grew up with her music as the soundtrack to figuring out who we are.

Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the songs, the sequins, and for always choosing love over judgment.

"I think gay couples should be allowed to marry. They should suffer just like us heterosexuals." That's the Dolly we loved.
