Many of you know of the impact that MPC has in the community, and the amount of support it provides to community organizations working to meet the hunger needs of Seattle residents. Without
MPC many non-profit meal providers would lack the resources to deliver the meals that they do today.

As of this week MPC will no longer have the funds to meet its employee costs. Due to the chronic underfunding of emergency meal providers many MPC members rely upon MPC staff to provide community and member support services. Without this staffed position, MPC will lack the ability to adequately meet member needs, which will weaken the emergency meal provider system.

To help ensure that emergency meal providers have the resources to serve more than 3,000,000 no-cost meals each year, we are asking you to donate to MPC and help us keep our doors open.

All donations are tax-deductible and can be made at www.mealspartnership.org

We would like to express our gratitude and sincere appreciation to our community who supported MPC through the GiveBig event.

Please see our website for more information on how you can support the work of the coalition in the community, contact us directly if you can sponsor the operations of MPC for one week.

Please see the volunteer opportunity on United Way of King County's website:

Meals Partnership Coalition (MPC) serves emergency meal providers throughout King County. Each year MPC supports the work of more than 70 nonprofit meal providers in the service of more than 3,000,000 meals to those who would otherwise go hungry.

MPC is still looking for volunteers to help us deliver nutritious meals to the Nickelsville community down by South Park. Operation Sack Lunch provides a hot meal to MPC Monday through Friday, and MPC staff and volunteers deliver it. Without this meal delivery many Nickelsville residents including children and seniors would go hungry.

If you would like to volunteer to deliver a nutritious meal please contact MPC at [email protected]

MPC is looking for community volunteers to help deliver meals out to the Nickelsville community. Nickelsville continues to grow each day and needs meals delivered to ensure that all of the residents have access to nutritious and safe food. In a great collaboration, OSL prepares a lunch each day, and MPC delivers it to the encampment. To support the work of MPC in ensuring that all Seattle residents have access to safe and nutritious food we are seeking some volunteers who would like to deliver a meal to the camp once a week. If you are interested, please send us a message via facebook.

We are happy to announce that we are working towards a solution with Seattle HSD to ensure that meals to those in need are not interrupted at the Outdoor Meal Site. The solution we are working towards is creating a location in the downtown corridor that serves meals indoors and outdoors and can provide additional social services to those in need. We will keep you all posted as this process progresses.

People are hungry everyday; hunger takes no holiday. If the Mayor gets his way and closes the outdoor meal site, who will feed our hungry community? In memory of MLK Jr., we celebrate social justice today. Where is the justice for the hungry people of Seattle?
· During the coldest winter month, The Mayor of Seattle is closing the outdoor meals site, where OSL and 30+ providers serve 156,000+ meals a year. Join us in the battle to protect this important link in the Emergency Food network. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice every where” MLK Jr. Contact the Mayor of Seattle today to urge the City to keep the Outdoor Meal Site open to those in need.
