π Why learn Korean?
Maybe you first found Korean through K-pop, K-dramas, dance, food, beauty, gaming, or social media. Learning the language lets you go further: understand lyrics without waiting for translations, recognize the meaning behind the words, and discover the stories, history, and people beyond the screen.
Korean culture is not just something to stream or scroll through. It is part of our Seattle community. From Korean-owned businesses and cultural organizations to language schools, community events, and festivals, Korean and Korean American communities help make our region vibrant.
The Seattle area is also home to the America K-Pop Association, a youth-focused organization that uses K-pop and culture to encourage creativity, leadership, cultural connection, and positive community engagement. Seattleβs K-Fest brings people together through Korean music, food, performances, and cultural experiences.
At OneWorld Now!, students can learn to read Hangul, hold real conversations, and earn high school credit while exploring Korean language and culture. Turn an interest in K-pop or K-dramas into a skill that helps you connect with others, build confidence, and understand more of the world around you.
