The Ivar’s Clammy Award is given out each year to individuals who demonstrate excellence in their positions and go above and beyond to support the company, and for 2020 we are thrilled to have two recipients: Silvia E. from our Seafood Bars and Chris B. from our chowder manufacturing facility. Congratulations to both Silvia and Chris, and a huge thank you for the amazing work they have done this past year for Ivar’s.

From Ivar's Director of Operations, Carl Taylor:

Yesterday we celebrated Paul McDonald’s 15-year anniversary with Ivar’s. Paul, pictured on the left with his District Manager Ray Espinoza, started his Ivar’s tenure at our Everett Mall location and has worked in more stores than most people in the system.

He has been the General Manager at Aurora for the past 8 years, but continues to help out at various restaurants whenever asked, and he is loved by his guests and employees.

Thank you for everything, Paul, and here’s to many more years ahead!

Thank you to all our team members who helped collect funds for Seattle Children's Hospital during September - a total of $21,619, which is more than we have raised in the last 4 years. And a big thanks to Billie McFarland (on the left in the photo below) and her team at the Mukilteo Fish Bar, which raised $4,000 of that amount!

Ivar's is continuing its partnership with the Summit at Snoqualmie again this year and providing the opportunity for all current employees at Ivar's, Kidd Valley, Alki Spud, and the Soup & Sauce Company to purchase discounted ski tickets. Details were emailed out by the HR Department this week, so check with your supervisor if planning an outing this winter!

Congratulations to Lourdes Ocsan on her 20 year anniversary with Ivar's! Lourdes was originally hired at our Denny Way location on a recommendation by long-time employee Noel, who now works at the Pier 54 Fish Bar. She helped out at Safeco Field when we opened our stands there before becoming the General Manager at the Salmon House Fish Bar. The Ocsan family has deep ties with Ivar’s since many of them have worked for different restaurants during the past two decade. Thank you, Lourdes, for your dedication to the company and for running a terrific operation!
