Living at Tent City 3 comes with rules, rules and then a few more rules, and then, there is the required work. Keeping it straight is a task in itself, and important too. If you mess up you get barred from camp. Depending on the issue, bars can be 3-day, 5-day, or longer, including a permanent bar. There is a good chance I will have some of this wrong in explaining it here so help me out TC3 campers if I need correcting or if you want to add something I have left out.

Residents must put in each week (4) securities. A security is a three-hour-shift of helping the elected committee person (EC) at the front desk, as well as patrol in-camp and out in the neighborhood, pick-up litter, and in general be a go-for-this-and-that person. There are two individuals doing security as well as an EC on duty twenty-four/seven.

In addition to getting your securities done for the week, which is no small task, you are also required to do community service, turn in bedding for wash, do litter patrol, and do your part by running for office for the many tasks needing to be managed and run. Elected positions include book-keeping, five elected committee members, kitchen, pantry, fence maintenance, laundry, etc.

This photo was taken at midnight at the front desk with Chris on duty as the EC at the desk, someone on the left signing in, and Tracy on the right, who is also an EC but not on duty.
