見證台美關係重要時刻！🇹🇼🇺🇸台美同慶 #美國獨立250週年🎉

美國在台協會 AIT舉辦「美國獨立250週年慶祝活動」，賴清德總統受AIT處長谷立言（Raymond Greene）邀請出席，並由外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan）林佳龍部長陪同，與美國朋友及各界貴賓齊聚，慶祝台美共享的價值：民主與自由。

賴總統表示，在美國迎來建國250週年這個偉大里程碑的同時，也是台灣總統直選30年。這代表美國建國的理念與精神，同樣在太平洋這一端的台灣蓬勃發展，更顯示台美雙方面對挑戰時同樣展現強韌的精神。

林部長也強調，台美擁有相同的價值，我們的合作讓自由民主更有力量，因為台美共同的利益，我們的並肩同行也讓印太區域與世界更加穩定與繁榮💪

The United States' top representative to Taiwan, Raymond Greene, director of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) jointly celebrated the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. at an event in Taipei, with both highlighting the two sides' shared democratic values and close partnership across various fields in the years ahead.

In his address during the AIT reception, President Lai noted that 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S., while Taiwan also commemorates the 30th anniversary of its first direct presidential election. He thanked the U.S. for being a long-time "beacon of freedom" and for its "continued and unwavering support for democratic Taiwan through various means."

🇺🇸🇹🇼台美同心！美國紅十字會感謝西雅圖辦事處協助華州賑災🙏

美國華盛頓州去年12月因強降雨爆發歷史性洪災，數萬名州民被迫撤離家園，駐西雅圖辦事處代表台灣政府捐贈20萬美元協助賑災，Taiwan in Seattle 林總領事美呈親自將善款交付「美國紅十字會西北分部」（American Red Cross Northwest Region），並由華州副州長赫克（Denny Heck）、州長辦公室國際關係暨禮賓處處長費雪（Amanda Fisher）及華州議會議員代表共同見證，感謝台灣人民與政府善心和友誼。

近日，美國紅十字會出版特刊感謝各界協助賑災，亦特別提及本處，表達感激之意。

此外，旅美僑界也積極響應本次賑災。慈濟西雅圖支會於災區提供救災物資並啟動愛心募捐，總計投入協助救災金額近12萬美元。駐西雅圖辦事處將持續結合在地民間力量，以具體行動共同展現台灣良善力量及台美堅實夥伴關係🤝

Director General May Lin of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Seattle presented a USD 200,000 donation from the Government of Taiwan to the American Red Cross Northwest Region earlier this year for readiness and response to disasters like the Washington Floods and countless other crises. The donation ceremony was witnessed by Washington State Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck and Amanda Fisher, Director of International Relations and Protocol for the Governor’s Office.

Recently, American Red Cross Northwest Region published a 12-page special section in the Puget Sound Business Journal with a simple message: Humanity First. It highlights the work supporting communities through floods, wildfires, and other disasters across the region while also expressing the gratitude towards donors, blood collection efforts, and community partnerships, including Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Seattle.

In addition to the government’s contribution, the local Taiwanese community has also been active in relief efforts. Tzu Chi Seattle has provided essential supplies and launched a fundraising campaign, contributing nearly USD 120,000 toward disaster relief.

【慶祝美國臺灣傳統週—《看見臺灣》於西雅圖驚豔登場！】

為慶祝美國臺灣傳統週， #國立臺灣體育運動大學 舞團5月24日於西雅圖 Shoreline College 帶來精彩演出《看見臺灣》！演出融合現代舞、音樂、戲劇與臺灣傳統文化元素，透過〈島嶼天光〉、〈時光留聲〉、〈Sweet Rebellion〉、〈賞味臺灣〉等節目，帶領觀眾穿梭不同世代記憶，一同感受臺灣的文化魅力與生命力。

本處林總領事受邀致詞表示，臺灣自1970年代以來，從被世界孤立的小島，蛻變為全球高科技供應鏈不可或缺的重要夥伴，更站在亞洲民主前線。在國際局勢快速變化的今天，臺美合作更顯珍貴與重要，期盼藉由這次的演出能向大西雅圖地區本地友人展現臺灣豐富的文化底蘊。

西雅圖也是臺體大舞團本次北美巡演的最後一站，再次感謝他們帶來精彩動人的演出，將臺灣的文化魅力與故事分享給北美觀眾！也感謝大西雅圖台灣同鄉會及大西雅圖地區臺灣僑界鼎力支持，讓舞蹈圖巡迴演出得以圓滿落幕！

【Celebrating Taiwanese American Heritage Week — “WE ARE TAIWAN” Amazes Audiences in Seattle!】

To celebrate Taiwanese American Heritage Week, the National Taiwan University of Sport ( ) Dance Company delivered a spectacular performance of “WE ARE TAIWAN” at Shoreline College in Seattle on May 24! Blending modern dance, music, theater, and traditional Taiwanese cultural elements, the performance guided audiences through memories shared across generations while showcasing Taiwan’s rich cultural vitality and spirit.

Director General Lin of Taiwan in Seattle was invited to deliver remarks and noted that since the 1970s, Taiwan has transformed from an isolated island into an indispensable partner in the global high-tech supply chain, while also standing on the frontlines of democracy in Asia. In today’s rapidly changing international environment, Taiwan-U.S. cooperation is more meaningful than ever. Director General Lin also expressed hope that this performance would help local friends in the greater Seattle area gain a deeper appreciation for Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage.

Seattle also marked the final stop of the dance company’s North American tour. We sincerely thank the performers for bringing such a moving and outstanding performance to audiences across North America and for sharing the beauty and spirit of Taiwan through the arts!

We also sincerely thank the Taiwanese Association of Greater Seattle 大西雅圖台灣同鄉會 and the Taiwanese community across the greater Seattle area for their tremendous support, which helped bring the dance company’s North American tour to a successful conclusion!

#台灣 🇹🇼 是全球醫療衛生領域中可靠的夥伴與重要貢獻者，可惜今年仍未獲邀參與今年第79屆世界衛生大會（ ），無疑為全球衛生安全網絡留下缺口。

賴清德總統於配合 舉辦的「Taiwan Global Health Forum Series」中強調，台灣始終積極參與國際衛生事務、分享經驗，致力成為全球健康領域中負責任且可靠的夥伴；若台灣能成為 的一員，將能為全球公共衛生做出更多貢獻。

目前正率團在日內瓦推動醫療外交的林佳龍部長也指出：台灣缺席WHA不僅「不公平」，更是「全世界的損失」！守護全球健康，理應不遺漏任何人。台灣擁有堅實的醫療體系，以及智慧醫療、數位健康與人工智慧應用等領域的優勢，理應在國際衛生對話中占有一席之地。

🇹🇼 is a reliable partner and a vital contributor to global public health. Regrettably, Taiwan has once again been excluded from this year’s 79th World Health Assembly ( ), leaving a critical gap in the global health security network.

In his address at the Taiwan Global Health Forum Series held alongside , President 賴清德 emphasized that Taiwan has consistently engaged in international health affairs and shared its expertise, remaining committed to being a responsible and dependable partner. If integrated into the , Taiwan would be able to contribute even more to global public health.

林佳龍, Minister of 外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan）, is currently leading a delegation in Geneva to advance medical diplomacy, also pointed out that Taiwan's absence from the WHA is not only "unfair" but also "a loss for the entire world." With its robust healthcare system and leading advantages in smart medicine, digital health, and AI applications, Taiwan rightfully deserves a seat at the table in international health dialogues.

Let’s include Taiwan to collectively fortify the resilience of the global healthcare architecture!

President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) said Monday that Taiwan would be able to make greater contributions to global health if it were a member of the World Health Organization (WHO).

We express our sincere gratitude to the U.S. side for its repeated reaffirmations of support and emphasis on peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. As a responsible member of the international community, Taiwan will continue to strengthen its self-defense capabilities. #美國 國務卿盧比歐重申對台政策未改變！

美國國務卿盧比歐於5月14日在北京針對 #川習會 情形的專訪中，再次強調美國歷經多任總統與政府的長期對台政策沒有改變。川普政府上任後也持續對台軍售，而當天會議軍售議題並非雙方討論重點。

盧比歐國務卿再次重申，美國反對任何迫使或強制改變現狀的行為，也強調破壞區域穩定對美國、中國與全世界都極為不利。他也指出中國大幅擴張軍力的目的實為在全球投射力量，其不斷在台海周邊進行各種灰色地帶與軍事騷擾威脅，均顯示北京是當前區域和平穩定的重大風險。

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasizes that the US’s long-standing policy on Taiwan remains unchanged!

In an interview in Beijing on May 14 concerning the summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Rubio emphasized once again that the US’s long-standing policy on Taiwan had remained unchanged across multiple presidential terms and administrations. He stressed that President Trump’s administration had continued to make arms sales to Taiwan since taking power and that arms sales had not featured prominently in discussions during the meeting.

Mr. Rubio further reiterated that the US opposed any change to the status quo by compulsion or force and emphasized that any disruption of regional stability would be detrimental to the US, China, and the entire world. Mr. Rubio pointed out that China’s objective in significantly expanding its military strength was not only to target Taiwan but to project power globally. To this day, People’s Liberation Army aircraft and vessels continue to operate around the Taiwan Strait and engage in various gray-zone harassment and military threats, showing the major risk that Beijing currently poses to regional peace and stability.

MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung thanks the US for clarifying on numerous occasions that it supports and values Taiwan Strait peace and stability, and for reiterating once again that its policy toward Taiwan remains unchanged. As a responsible member of the international community, Taiwan will continue to strengthen its self-defense capabilities and staunchly cooperate with the US and all other freedom-loving democracies to jointly defend peace, stability, and prosperity across the Taiwan Strait and throughout the region.
