Having abortion pills on hand means that when MAGA politicians further try to take away decisions that belong between us and our doctors, we can lessen the impact. This will not only protect our reproductive freedoms, but save lives.

In Washington state and Hawaii, residents can now get mifepristone and misoprostol from Planned Parenthood to keep in their cabinets in case they need to end a pregnancy at a later time.

Lisa Brown is fighting to fund improvements to recreational facilities, youth centers, and to build new playgrounds for families in Spokane. Meanwhile, Mike Baumgartner and the other MAGA Republicans are planning to eliminate this funding when they kowtow to Trump's demands.

Over $1 million in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding will support improvements in neighborhoods throughout Spokane. However, CDBG funding has been eliminated from the President’s 2027 proposed budget. This reduction will jeopardize safety initiatives and hinder our ability to address basic community needs. I have joined the United States Conference of Mayors and bipartisan mayors across the country in urging members of Congress to protect the Community Development Block Grant.

Hundreds of Spokane community members protested nonviolently to demand the release of two young asylum-seekers whom ICE unlawfully detained. ICE refused and physically attacked protesters. The federal charges against community members following these protests made one thing clear: this is an attempt to silent dissent and intimidate us.

We stand with Jac, Justice, and Bajun and will always speak out for our immigrant neighbors and for our First Amendment freedoms.

Prosecutors in Spokane, Wash., are trying three activists who they say conspired to impede federal officers. Legal experts call it a stretch.
