This is a very big deal; tell LGBTQ people that we do not love or have the capacity to love or even that we just don't love as good as straight society and we can take it. After we roll our collective eyes we get on with life. It takes a lot more than that to get us down. But ... when you say, as a federal government or state government that we cannot legally adopt because (fill-in-the-blank with some tired old bigoted statement about who knows what that doesn't make any sense to anyone who doesn't have hate fueling their heart and soul) we get angry. We get organized. We get support. We get lawyers. And, even if it takes years or decades, you had best believe WE GET THOSE RIGHTS! We have more resilience, more reasons to defend our constitutional right to marry, more support than ever before and more than enough lawyers, courts, and all the time in the world that it will take to beat you back, protect our families and ourselves and do the thing that we have been asking for all along: Live our lives with the same rights, responsibilities, and freedoms as heterosexual Americans. And Social Outreach Seattle (SOSea) would like to add this to the argument: THIS TOPIC IS OLD AND TIRED BY NOW. Study after study, report after report, and a sense of morality all point to the fact that there is no real reason (and probably never was one) to keep LGBTQ people from adopting.

A federal judge ruled Mississippi's ban on same-sex adoption is unconstitutional.
