PSLA Food Bank Seattle Est 1975

PSLA Food Bank Seattle Est 1975 The Puget Sound Labor Agency is a Food Bank. Resources are diminishing at the same rate – and even faster – as the demand for assistance is increasing.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people needing assistance for everyone and to provide an avenue for unions and their families to help the community. The Puget Sound Labor Agency provides essential services for union individual and families in the Puget Sound area, as well as community members living within five zip codes, through our food bank, our emergency assistance program, a

nd residential wheelchair ramp program.-11. Operation Shortfall helps by working to decrease living costs as well as by providing opportunities for economic and personal independence. We do this by facilitating access to such programs as the Seattle Public Utilities rate reduction plan and the SafeLink telephone program. In partnership with IAM 751, PLSA has been building residential wheelchair ramps for disabled citizens since its founding in 1975. In 2010, PSLA partnered with the Regional Access Mobility Program (RAMP) in Snohomish County to extend our reach, increasing our ramp production from 15 to 85 ramps per year. The PSLA-RAMP program makes it possible for wheelchair-bound people to have the freedom and ability to access their homes unassisted. PSLA is able to serve the Seattle community through the generous support of workplace charitable campaigns, union members and organizations, United Way of King County, foundation support, and individuals like you. All health and human service agencies and providers are pushed to their limits. We are grateful to who serve their communities by partnering with the PSLA through volunteering, in-kind donations, and financial support.

With SNAP benefits at a big topic another resource to utilize is WIC
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program

Eligibility depends on household size and income.

WIC is a nutrition program for people who are pregnant, recently delivered a baby, breast and chest feeding, and infants and children under 5 years old.
Dads, grandparents, and other caregivers of children under 5 years old may also sign up their children for WIC.
Foster children under age five and foster teens who are pregnant are eligible for WIC.
If you or your household members are on Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Basic Food, you may be eligible for WIC, too.
Many working families and military families are eligible for WIC.
Being on WIC does not make you a public charge and does not affect your immigration status. U.S. citizenship is not required to qualify for WIC.

Contact your local WIC clinic to see if WIC can help your family.

Call the WIC Cascades Support Line at 1-800-841-1410 for help finding a WIC clinic near you.

Due to the ongoing federal shutdown, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits in Washington ended on Oct. 31, 2025. DSHS has details on impacts as well as what clients can do to prepare for the loss of benefits.
