The Flemington

The Flemington Built for pioneer grocer Joseph Fleming in 1924 by contractor A.F. Fleming sold his landmark apartment home to White and Ballard Inc.

Mowat and designed by architect Howard Riley, The Flemington's imposing five stories of 52 apartments clad with red brick and a decorative balustrade dominated the Broadway roof-line for nearly a century. circa 1945 after which it frequently changed hands and was renamed "The Winters Building." The current owner Franklin Tseng purchased it in 1991 and renamed it "The Capitol Building." This page s

Crime wave hits The Flemington! Manning's Coffee, one of The Flemington's storefront tenants, was robbed at least six times over the course of nearly 2 years. It was comically almost a matter of routine for the manager there who said she longer feared having a gun pointed at her by the third time she'd been held up.
