Hey, we funded that! Don't miss this chance to experience the iconic sounds of the Japanese Shakuhachi, an end-blown bamboo flute. Hanzaburo Araki - whose family has practiced and preserved this art form for generations - will give an intimate presentation that blends historical overview with live demonstration.

Join us for the opening of Here & Now, a selection of paintings, photographs, prints, sculpture, and mixed media artworks recently acquired for the King County Public Art Collection.

4Culture is now accepting applications for our Storefront Media Gallery, which offers artists an opportunity to present work to the public in Pioneer Square. Four screens, adjacent to Gallery 4Culture, broadcast on this busy thoroughfare where more than 20,000 people pass by on foot, wheel, and bus every day.

JOIN US THIS WEEKEND!
4Culture invites you to celebrate the installation of Camber on Eastrail in Woodinville and meet artist W. Scott Trimble.

Created in partnership with 4Culture and King County Parks, Camber serves as a meeting place, an architectural landmark, and a stopping point for those who use the trail or live and work in the neighborhood.⠀

We'll have refreshments, snacks, self-guided tours and brief comments at noon. At the event, W. Scott Trimble and 4Culture’s Kelly Pajek will be on hand to answer your questions about the work of art.⠀

Meet the Artists!

These five artists are the cohort selected to create original artwork for a rotating banner installation at White Center Ponds.

Mar Olivos, Carlos Martinez, Camille Trautman, Scott Méxcal, and Nak Bou will explore the pond’s ecology and consider local history, culture, and communities to inspire their work.

The instillation will celebrate the redesign and reimagining of the White Center Ponds stormwater facility and greenspace.

La Arc Artist Fellowship (Comunidad de artistas Arc) ofrece $15.000 en apoyo operativo a los artistas mientras desarrollan su trabajo creativo. Abierta a artistas emergentes, a mitad de sus carreras y establecidos.

Este año, los artistas elegibles son aquellos que viven en comunidades rurales del condado de King o prestan servicio a esas comunidades.

Acompáñenos el sábado 22 de agosto a la 1 p. m.
en un taller sobre la Collections Care grant
(subvención para el Cuidado de colecciones) de
4Culture. El programa Collections Care grant
apoya la labor que realizan las organizaciones sin
fines de lucro y las tribus de King County para
preservar materiales patrimoniales de
importancia cultural e histórica. Con solicitudes
que oscilan entre $2.000 y $15.000, esta
subvención puede usarse para financiar trabajos
en archivos, repositorios históricos o colecciones
que preserven o perpetúen prácticas culturales
vivas. La fecha límite para presentar la solicitud es
el 23 de septiembre a las 5 p. m.

Al finalizar el taller del 22 de agosto, se abrirá un
horario de atención para que consulte con el
personal de 4Culture información sobre su
colección y su solicitud. Se ofrecerá
interpretación al español tanto para el taller
como para el horario de atención.
