Incident report:
At 1128 on June 19, 2026, Sebago Fire and EMS was dispatched to the area of Peaked Mountain Road and Folley Road for an ATV accident with injuries. The caller did not have a cell phone, so he had left the patient and traveled several miles to find a phone. Upon arrival of fire personnel, the witness could not recall which trail he had exited the woods from. It was decided that more help would be required to do a search of all area trails.
Naples Fire-EMS, Standish Fire-EMS, Maine Warden Service, Southern Maine Search and Rescue, Cumberland County Sherriffs Department were requested to the scene. Lifeflight of Maine was placed on standby.
Baldwin Fire was requested to cover Sebago Station 2.
Several members of Sebago & Naples Fire and EMS split up and began searching trails both on foot and by UTV. Eventually, the patient was located, and after an assessment by EMS, more help was requested for a carryout of approximately a mile.
Denmark Fire Department was requested, as was Baldwin Fire to the scene.
The patient was packaged for transport, and both personnel and UTV's were utilized to carry and transport the patient off the mountain.
Total time to remove, respond, find, package, and extricate the patient to the ambulance was 2 hours and 8 minutes.
We wish to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance and the efforts of the Cumberland County Regional Communication Center - Maine. It was a difficult and lengthy process and could not have been done without the help from all involved.
Thank you!
Deputy Fire Chief
