This evening Sebago Fire & EMS and Bridgton Fire Department toured Camp Micah for a joint orientation. Camp Micah straddles the Sebago/Bridgton town line, we felt it was important to update our response plan and familiarize crews with camp and their new recreation building. Thank you to Camp Micah for a great tour and allowing us access.

Incident report:

At 0927 May 24, 2026 Sebago Fire and EMS were dispatched by Cumberland County Regional Communication Center - Maine to the report of a shed on fire behind Sportsman's Kitchen and Keg, not associated with the restaurant. A full desk box assignment was dispatched. Ambulance 5 was first on scene and reported a shed on fire, spreading to the woods with extension to a second building. Upon arrival Sebago Engine 2 and Tank 1 accessed the scene via Marathon Ave, while Sebago Engine 1, Standish Truck 10 and Standish Tank 3 entered from Naomi Street.

The threatened building was protected and cooled while the shed was extinguished. Crews confirmed only exterior fire damage to the second building.

Maine State Fire Marshall's were notified to investigate as no obvious cause was evident, and all units have returned to service.

Sebago Fire & EMS wish to thank Baldwin Maine Fire Department & Standish Fire-EMS for their assistance on scene.

Naples Fire & EMS and Denmark Fire Department provided coverage at Sebago fire stations while crews were at the scene.

Our thanks to all the departments that assisted and to the dispatchers at CCRC.

We had several inquiries this morning about Standish Fire & EMS vehicles responding to calls by going through our town. Standish is contracted to provide fire & EMS to the town of Baldwin, and occasionally the best access for them requires fire trucks and ambulances to respond through Sebago. When warranted, they will request our assistance, but often they do not need more help, which is why you do not see our apparatus responding as well.
