As part of Parks & Recreation Month, we’re highlighting the dedicated team members who help make Sebastian’s parks and community events so special.

Meet Merbert “Bub” Milon, our Special Events Coordinator!

Born in Colorado, Bub grew up as an Army brat, moving with his family to Texas, North Carolina, and even spending three years in Germany before eventually settling in Arkansas after his father’s retirement from the military. He graduated from high school in Arkansas and went on to spend 18 years working for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.

In January 2004, Bub joined the City of Sebastian, where he has become an integral part of the Parks & Recreation team. As Special Events Coordinator, he helps organize and oversee many of the events that take place throughout the City’s parks, as well as events held at City Hall and the City Compound. His work helps bring the community together for celebrations, festivals, and special occasions all year long.

When asked what he enjoys most about working for the City, Bub says it’s the people. He appreciates the great team he works with and enjoys that no two days are ever exactly the same.

Outside of work, Bub enjoys spending time with family and friends. Whether it’s a friendly game of co****le, shooting darts, or playing poker, he values making memories with the people closest to him.

Thank you, Bub, for your 22 years of dedication to the City of Sebastian and for helping create memorable experiences for our community! 🎉🌳

The City of Sebastian will present preliminary design concepts for the playground and splash pad improvements, and we want to hear from you! Attendees will have the opportunity to share feedback, make recommendations, and help guide the final vision for these exciting park enhancements.
