Trees are stronger, live longer, and thrive with preventative care. Proper care must necessarily take into account the biological drives of the tree, the natural architecture inherent to the species, the limits of the space in which it lives, and then in consideration of all of the above, take into account the actual physics at work upon the tree system in all conditions - - including the growth potential of another year or two. Most unpruned trees, and particularly the improperly pruned trees we find with catastrophic damage, have very common failure patterns which good pruning could have easily prevented.
Spring was wet, and the final new leaf growth is almost done. Our well-trained crews understand the physics of branch weight, sail, leverage, and harmonics, and how all of these effects can work together to strain the attachment of a branch to the trunk. You can probably see it too, and if you have a concern or a question, give us a call.
With over 25 years of experience, Fine Tree Care can quickly identify which of your trees are struggling to handle the weight of large leaves out toward the end of the branches, and we particularly know the ways that wind and the eventual wet weather of fall will most certainly affect them more strongly than a dry, static load. Most tree and branch failures we see were plainly obvious and very predictable, and would have been seen if tree care had been performed before the failure.
Mostly, the problems come when there's too much weight, sail, and therefore an extreme leverage effect from those unpruned ends of limbs putting force on attachments. Water weight from a drizzly day can snap multitudes of Pear trees, and Liquid Ambar. For oaks and other species, acorns, flowers, or fruit can easily be an overload and lead to tree failure! Structural defects, damage, disease, pests and all other kinds of things affect your trees, and so getting some experienced help is important.
