The Upper Darby Township Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Highland Park Fire Company Chief, Robert J. Adams, who was also lovingly known as "Bubba." To say that Chief Adams was a cornerstone of our department would be an understatement. Chief Adams served the community of Upper Darby for over three decades. He rose through the ranks from Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and then District Chief of the Highland Park Fire Company. His knowledge, expertise, and wisdom not only showed on the fire grounds, but also when it came to performing rescue work. Chief Adams guided many of young firefighters to a successful career in the fire department. Bubba was also known to always have a smile on his face, and to light up a room whenever he entered. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will be carried on.

We send our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones that Bubba leaves behind.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bubba’s viewing on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the funeral service from 11:30 AM, both at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. Interment private.

Congratulations to TSgt Nicholas Kapulsky-Agnew on his promotion and reenlistment in the United States Air Force 🇺🇸

We’re honored to serve alongside Nicholas locally while he continues to serve our country as part of the Air Force Fire Emergency Services. He is an extremely dedicated member of the fire company who has continued to contribute administratively and in training in both when home and while stationed in Charleston! Accompanying his promotion to TSgt is his expected assignment to Battalion Chief, another well-deserved role that Nick will excel in.

🚒 Congratulations, Chief Martin!

The members of the Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Nick Martin on his swearing-in as the new Chief of the Upper Darby Township Fire Department! We look forward to working with Chief Martin as we continue to strengthen fire and emergency services across our community.

We also want to thank the Township of Upper Darby for ensuring that our organization had a seat at the table throughout the selection process. Your commitment to collaboration means a stronger fire service for everyone we serve.

Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to Interim Fire Chief Brian Boyce for his leadership, dedication, and steadfast support of our company over the past few years.

For years, the dedication and compassion of the EMTs and Paramedics of Crozer EMS has been a cornerstone of emergency services in our community.

Whether it was working alongside you on countless calls or sharing meals around the table, the bonds forged were strong, and the dedication you showed was profound. As we say goodbye, know that your impact and legacy will live on in the communities you served with pride and professionalism.

To the teams of STAT Medical Transport—we look forward to working with you in service to Upper Darby Township and the surrounding areas.  It’s great to see so many familiar faces are already continuing the mission.
