Today, we honor Lieutenant Thomas Malanka for his exemplary service to the Secaucus Police Department. Since joining the force in January 2002, Lieutenant Malanka has been a dedicated officer, rising through the ranks to Sergeant in 2015 and Lieutenant in 2021 while serving in the Patrol Division. He has held key positions, including Patrol Supervisor, Platoon Commander, and Extra Duty Coordinator, until his retirement on June 1st, 2026. Thomas was also a member of the Hudson County Rapid Deployment Force for over a decade. We would like to express our appreciation to Lieutenant Malanka's family, including his wife Lauren and sons Bob and Jude, for their love and support. As the son of retired Captain Thomas Malanka Senior, Thomas continues a legacy of service. We recognize that behind every outstanding officer stands a strong family. Lieutenant Malanka, congratulations on your retirement, and thank you for your exceptional service.
