This morning at approx 0430 Engine 113, Tower 131 and BC 102 responded to a fully involved vehicle fire threatening a residential structure. Crews quickly protected the exposed structure and extinguished the fire, which was made more difficult as the fuel tank was compromised feeding the flames. The vehicle was a total loss and there was minor damage to the house. The cause is under investigation.

🚨 SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES 🚨

This morning around 4:00 AM, SFD responded to a reported appliance fire with visible smoke and flames. Thanks to working smoke alarms in the home, the occupants were alerted early—before the fire could grow out of control.
The residents were able to move the appliance outside prior to our arrival. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and ventilated the home to clear smoke.
This is a powerful reminder of how critical smoke alarms are. Make sure yours are installed, tested regularly, and replaced when needed.

Saturday evening at approximately 9:30 PM, Security Fire Department responded to reports of a serious traffic accident at the intersection of Main Street and Norman Drive.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a single vehicle and a nearby structure, both sustaining significant damage. Initial findings indicate the vehicle, occupied by two young adults, was traveling at a high rate of speed before losing control, becoming airborne, striking the upper portion of a second-floor level of the building, and ultimately landing on the ground.
Responding units included Engine 113, Tower 131, Battalion 102, Rescue Engine 173, and Ambulances 181 and 183. Both occupants were rapidly extricated and transported to Memorial Central for medical care.
Fort Carson Fire’s Heavy Rescue team was requested to assist in securing the structural integrity and safety of the affected building.
The incident remains under investigation by Colorado State Patrol. The condition of those involved is unknown at this time.
