You may or may not know that one of the missions of the Missouri State Fair Fire Department is to support different causes throughout the State of Missouri so that we may be able to continue to progress one of our main missions, helping others. Many Fire Department, EMS, and Dispatch members come to our department to dedicate their time and energy, and when needed, we hope to be able to return the favor.
To achieve this mission, in 1998 the members of the Missouri State Fair Fire Department established our Union, International Order of Dragon Slayers. The purpose of this Union has been to raise funds for charitable causes that are brought forth and voted on by the members of the MSFFD. This year, we switched things up a bit and auctioned off items that were donated by multiple businesses throughout the State of Missouri.
We would like to recognize the following businesses for donating to our cause, because with their support, we were able to support all the causes brought forth to us by our members. In total, between our "Union Dues," "Fines," direct donations, and items donated for us to auction off to our members, we were able to raise $3200 dollars this year!
The following businesses contributed to our department auction and on behalf of the MSFFD and the Fraternal Order of Dragon Slayers, we would like to thank them for their support. If you have the chance, please support these businesses as they have supported us in our mission.

Good tips at the start of the school year.
Would your child know what to do if their school bus encountered a downed power line? According to Safe Electricity, passengers should stay seated inside the vehicle and call 911. They should not exit the vehicle until first responders deem it safe to do so. However, if the vehicle is on fire, passengers should jump out with their feet together, then βbunny hopβ to safety.
