As the County Clerk Election Authority of Pettis County, I am committed to making online access to the government a convenient and valuable resource for our County's citizens. The County Clerk's office performs a variety of functions for our citizens
. In addition to conducting all elections, the clerk is also the administrative officer to the County Commission, maintaining all official county records, works with the political subdivisions to establish their current tax levies, serves as the secretary for the Board of Equalization, issues all county liquor licenses, notary public licenses. Election Authority Duties
The County Clerk serves as the Election Authority overseeing the election process for the County and all its political subdivisions. The conduct of elections requires many vital functions, among them are:
* Accepting the filings of candidates for County offices and some political subdivisions.
* Compiling the certifications of candidates from political subdivisions.
* Publishing the legal notice of election and computing election costs.
* Finding, appointing, and training all election judges.
* Locating polling locations throughout the County.
* Establishing precinct boundaries.
* Processing all voter registration forms.
* Maintain a computerized voter registration database including but not limited to
Cancellations, change of address, registrations, deceased, and those convicted of felonies.

Today we would like to wish the Air Force a happy birthday and thank all those who have served this Country.
In the upcoming Special Election on November 7, 2023, ONLY residents who live within two specific areas will be holding an election. Only those who live in the City of La Monte or within the Smithton Fire Protection District, will vote in this election.
Those who reside in the City of La Monte will vote on a sales tax that would be applied to the titling of various items such as motor vehicles, trailers, boats, and outboard motors.
Those in Smithton will vote on whether the Smithton Fire Protection District should become part of the Pettis County Fire Protection District.
Election Day we will be HOSTING the Election at the Pettis County Courthouse Annex 215 E. 5th St. Sedalia MO
Absentee Voting will be September 26, 2023 till November 6, 2023. Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.

Donald E. Dick 88, of rural Sedalia, passed away, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be 10am, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, with Fr. Joe Corel as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers

I had the honor to be appointed by the U.S Department of State to represent and serve our country by being a ”Short Term Election Observer” for the
North Kazakhstan Presidential Election on November 20, 2022.
A.k.a., right on the Russian Border.
Our observation,on behalf of OSCE/ODIHR, indicates that the Election process is professional, secure, organized, and efficient. I have learned so much and am excited to use this professional growth to keep the Pettis County Elections the best in the State of Missouri.
It’s incredible to be a part of history that will be remembered for years. Seeing the democracy, demeanor, and transparency of EVERYONE involved was again an absolute honor.
The different cultures of people observing were so welcoming. I have made many friends that will always be a part of my life. We all have taught each other different aspects of not only Elections but also life. The people of Kazakhstan were so kind, genuine, and loving, especially after everything their Country has been through.
