Critical Fire Weather conditions are expected tomorrow.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect from late Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Mild and dry conditions, combined with very strong winds will lead to widespread critical fire weather conditions from the I-25 corridor east into the plains. Stay safe! **Red Flag Warning**
Sunday afternoon and likely Monday & Tuesday as well. Be mindful of any activity that could start a wildfire.

A prolonged period of critical fire weather conditions will begin Sunday and continue through at least midweek. Conditions are expected to expand in coverage and intensify over time, with Tuesday likely bringing extreme fire weather conditions to the plains.

The period starts Sunday with a Red Flag Warning in effect for the eastern plains from 11 AM to 5 PM. Relative humidity values are expected to drop as low as 11%, combined with gusty southwest winds up to 40 mph.

These conditions will create a high risk for rapid fire growth and spread. Avoid any burning or outdoor activities that may cause sparks.

01/17/2026

Another round of strong, gusty winds and low humidity for the plains today. While not as ferocious as yesterday, we still expect persistent wind gusts into the 40-55 mph range. They will, however, gradually relax mid to late afternoon. Avoid any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.
