Rotary Club of East Providence/Seekonk President Dave Kent and Assistant District Governor Paul Lefluer present a commendation and cash donation to Gerry McCabe of Doorways Food Pantry.

The Rotary Club of East Providence/Seekonk held an awards banquet to honor a half dozen local charities, including the Doorways food pantry from Seekonk. Each charity received a commendation from the City of East Providence and a donation from the Rotary Club in support of their charitable mission. For many years the East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club has made large annual contributions to Doorways, and their generous gift will help to stock the cupboards of homes throughout our town in the months to come. There are currently over eighty families relying on the Doorways food pantry, and Doorways, in turn, relies on people like our local Rotary Club.

The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club has been helping our community since its founding in 1946. Rotarians help local charities to help those in need; we thank them for their generous support.

Bill Kearney & Evan Fasteson Join the Board of Directors of Doorways

The Board of Directors of the Doorways Food Pantry are pleased to welcome Bill Kearney and Evan Fasteson to the Board. Bill and Evan bring years of dedicated service to their new roles, and both candidacies were unanimously approved by the existing board members.

Bill Kearney has been part of Doorways for many years, giving his time not only on Saturday mornings but also helping to unload the trucks bringing food from the Boston Food Bank. In addition to his work with Doorways, Bill Kearney is actively involved in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Catholic ministry servicing our Neighbors in Need.

Evan Fasteson joined Doorways during Covid while still in high school. He played a major role in operating Doorways as a contactless, curbside operation during the lockdowns, and has continued to serve on a continuous basis ever since.
Welcome Bill and Evan!

Seekonk Lions Paul Buckley and Guy Larrimer present a $4,000 check to Doorways !

The Seekonk Lions have been a positive presence in Seekonk for almost 70 years, and they have been ever-present partners in the fight against hunger in our community since Doorways was founded 25 years ago.

This year, as in the past, the Lions made a large donation to the Doorways Food Pantry to help our neighbors in need. The food thus provided will grace the dinner tables of homes throughout our town in the weeks to come. There are currently over 80 families relying on the Doorways food pantry, and Doorways, in turn, relies on people like the Lions.

Over the last 25 years, over 800 families have received necessary support, and close to two million pounds of food has been distributed – all at no cost to our clients, and all made possible by the generosity of the people of Seekonk. Our gratitude is boundless - we are humbled by your support, awed by your generosity, and thankful for all you do. What a great town!
