Shoutout to Gruene Insurance Group in Seguin for hosting an incredible Vendor Fair & Ice Cream Social today — and for making it more than just a fun afternoon.

They organized a clear backpack drive for Seguin ISD - Home of the Matadors students, and the community showed up. As a member of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees, it means everything to see local businesses investing in our kids and our schools like this. 💙

Science meets GRAVITY. 🥚⬇️🔥

Last week our Seguin ACE Program Summer Camp students put their engineering skills to the ultimate test — an egg drop challenge with the Seguin Fire Department! The firefighters extended the ladder truck sky-high at the Irma Outdoor Learning Center and dropped each student's custom-built contraption from the top. The mission: protect your egg from the fall.

The creativity was off the charts — parachutes, padding, you name it. Some eggs survived. Some… did not. 😂 But every single student walked away with a lesson in problem-solving, teamwork, and what happens when you mix science with a ladder truck.

Huge thank you to the Seguin Fire Department for showing up and making this an unforgettable experience for our kids. THIS is what summer learning looks like in Seguin ISD - Home of the Matadors ⚔️⚔️⚔️

THIS is what creativity and connection look like! 🙌 Students at AJB Middle School showed out at the science fair with projects that blew me away — infinity mirrors, tornado-resistant structures, cereal crunchiness tests, and so much more.

Walking through that hallway and seeing the pride on these students' faces as they presented their work to their families… that's what education is all about. Hands-on, student-driven, real learning. Proud of our Seguin ISD - Home of the Matadors students! ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Proud to be part of the Seguin Economic Development Corporation's Industry Signing Day! These Seguin ISD students just signed on with local employers and are stepping straight from the classroom into real careers right here in Guadalupe County.

Ribbon cutting day. ✂️🎉

Seguin ISD - Home of the Matadors just opened its first-ever Agricultural Science Facility — and walking through those doors this morning hit different. Two barns, a show arena, livestock pens, lockers… this place is the real deal.

Our community City of Seguin - Government and surrounding areas voted for this in 2022. Today we got to see the promise kept. $9 million invested in our kids, and it shows in every square foot.

This is what Building Futures Together actually looks like — not just words on a page, but a facility where students get challenging, meaningful, hands-on learning every single day. Kids who never had a place to raise an animal now have one. That's how you build life-ready students.

🧪 Our Matadors at Vogel Elementary got a front-row seat to science! Texas A&M University brought their Chemistry Road Show to campus and the energy in the gym was incredible. Watching our students light up during live experiments is exactly why we invest in STEM enrichment — this is where the spark starts.

A huge thank you to Ms. Perry at Vogel Elementary for setting this up, and to Texas A&M for making the trip to Seguin ISD - Home of the Matadors ! Moments like these remind me why I love serving this community. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Exciting day for Seguin ISD - Home of the Matadors ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️

Tomorrow morning, we will celebrate the official ribbon cutting of our new Agricultural Science Facility—a significant investment in the future of our students and our community.

This facility will provide hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for careers in agriculture, animal science, welding, mechanics, agribusiness, and many other high-demand fields. It represents our commitment to ensuring students have access to real-world experiences that connect classroom learning to future success.

I hope you'll join us as we celebrate this milestone and the students who will benefit from it for years to come.
