We are currently working an accident at SH 123 and Elm Creek. Currently the highway is shut down. Please monitor Guadalupe County Texas Emergency Management and Fire Marshal for further info, as I am away from the scene and can't monitor conditions.

You most likely saw it from the other pages, but we were busy yesterday. Our volunteers have been out most of yesterday and through the night on different fires through the areas. We'd like to bring up a few points.

1. As much as I love you guys connecting with us on this page, please do not use it for official news. There are plenty of times that we may be too busy to update this page (fighting fires) or our admins may not be available. (Work ) Please follow the Guadalupe County Texas Emergency Management and Fire Marshal's page for the most accurate info. I'll try to keep up, but like yesterday, some days I'm stuck at work and can't.

2. RED FLAG! We will be under a Red Flag Warning today, which means no outdoor burning. We have a cold front coming in today that will bring high winds, up to 45 mph gusts. Please do not burn. That means no welding, no burning trash, everything.

3. With the wind event and the weather today, please keep in mind that we may need you to evacuate your home. Today, while you're stuck inside not burning outside like you had planned, maybe consider putting together a go bag of medications, documents, and other essentials. Think of what you need to grab, and a good location to go for safety. Just look at it as good practice if it ever rains again.

4. Drones. I'm a drone pilot myself, and I love flying them. However, if we call for aircraft, such as tankers, we can't have drones flying in the area. I've already seen one video that was posted of one of the helicopters making a drop that was shot with a drone. It was great footage, but it could have caused a crash, as their pilots have no waying of knowing where your drone is. Keep it on the ground. Honestly, with the winds as high as they are today, you shouldn't be flying anyway.

To summarize, it's going to be a rough day. Our volunteers and other partners throughout the county have prepared for this, but we need your help. Don't burn outside, monitor the news and social media, keep the drones down, and be ready to evacuate if needed. Thanks.
