FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Bastrop, Bexar, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, De Witt,
Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Karnes, Lavaca, Lee, Travis,
Williamson and Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding
somewhere in the watch area. Excessive runoff may result in
flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and
flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high
and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing high
rainfall rates which could quickly lead to flooding for some
locations in the watch area. Be especially cautious as
creeks, streams and rivers may rise out of their banks
quickly. Scattered rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches with an
isolated 8 inches are possible for the duration of the Flood
Watch.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

Showers and storms could produce locally heavy rain Friday and Saturday. There is a level 2 risk for excessive rain Friday and level 1 risk Saturday.

The next 4 days will see multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could produce heavy rainfall. Each day could see cumulative totals adding up to increase the likelihood of flooding. Stay weather aware.

* At 827 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Niederwald,
or near Kyle, moving southwest at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

The National Weather Service conducted a damage survey following a line of thunderstorms that impacted portions of southern Guadalupe County during the late evening hours of May 26th. The survey team found damage consistent with a short-lived EF-1 tornado. A tornado debris signature was also detected on radar just north of where the most extensive damage was surveyed.

Survey Summary:
The tornado may have developed just east of Linne Road. The most significant damage occurred north of Kunde Road, where widespread tree damage was documented. The circulation continued eastward, where additional tree damage was observed. The tornado may have traveled farther southeast; however, this could not be confirmed due to limited property access.

11:00AM Update. All CCSUD Crews are out in the Highlighted yellow area looking for a leak that is causing low pressure and or outages for an extended period of time. This is a very rural area that has water lines that could run cross country. Due to the storms overnight there are several areas of standing water, however if you notice water bubbling anywhere in this area or inside your property, please call CCSUD office immediately. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and are working hard at getting this issue resolved as quickly as possible. 830-372-1031. Updates will be provided as soon as the issue has been located.

Residents are encouraged to report storm damage through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) iSTAT Damage Survey. Reporting damage helps local and state officials assess the overall impact to the community.
