Representative Toth Stands with Cypress, TX Family as They Fight to Save Two-Year-Old
Daughter’s Life – Calling on Community Support and Prayers
The Woodlands, TX — State Representative Steve Toth issued a statement today expressing his unwavering support for the Camp family of Cypress, Texas, as they fight to give their daughter every chance at recovery.
Two-year old, Annalise Camp is currently in the ICU following a tragic drowning accident on Memorial Day.
After the untimely death of a constituent in 2021, Rep. Toth worked with Sen. Tan Parker (SD 12) to
advance the Right to Try Act (Mary Lou’s Law). Passed in the 88th session, the law reinforces Texas’ commitment to giving patients facing life-threatening conditions access to innovative and potentially life-saving treatments. “We passed this law to ensure that families have the ability to pursue cutting-edge medical options when traditional pathways fall short,” said Toth. “This reflects the strong belief in patient autonomy, medical innovation, and the fundamental right to fight for life.”
“Our hearts and prayers are with the Camp family as they walk through every parent’s worst nightmare,”said Rep. Toth. “They are showing extraordinary strength, grounded in faith, as they pursue a hospital transfer and access to innovative treatments—including stem cell therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy—in hopes of saving their daughter’s life.”
Rep. Toth also pointed to stories of hope that remind us of what is possible in the face of tragedy when given the chance to try.
In 2018, a young boy named Robert suffered a drowning accident and was revived against the odds. Through persistence and a commitment to exploring every available treatment, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, Robert experienced a remarkable recovery. His family now shares their journey to help other facing similar crises through their organization, www.DrownedBaby.org.
“Every person is created with purpose and inherent value,” said Toth. “We must always stand for the fundamental right to life and support families who are fighting with everything they have to protect it. The Camp family’s unwavering commitment to their daughter is a powerful reminder of this.”
“We are calling on our community to join us in prayer and support for Annalise and her family—and for every medical professional caring for her.”
