Oklahoma WIC is open and operating as usual. The federal government shutdown hasn't affected WIC services. We're keeping participants updated as needed.

As much as I love summer it is definitely short and sweet, that means it’s almost time to start thinking about getting ready to go back to school!

This means new clothes, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, etc. for the kids. But, this also can mean stress and worry for parents who have to supply all of these things.
If you are one of those worried parents, PLEASE reach out… I would love to help you!

My mission is to make sure that every kiddo has everything they need before going back to school to ensure they have the best year!

📚 You will be contacted towards the end of July/First of August for pick up in Fairview. If no means of transportation are available, let me know and we can work something out!

📚 Anyone in NW Oklahoma with school age children who needs help can fill out the form, there are no guarantees but I promise to work non stop to get as much done as I can!

📚 I am focusing on the other essential items outside of school supplies, I know many towns have assistance with those already. However, if you need them and do not have a way to get them, put it in the “other” section and I will do what I can to help!

Please text me at 580-794-0271 if you are interested in helping! I will need people to help sort donations and then people to help fill orders as they come in! Dates and times will vary.

•New or GENTLY used school appropriate clothing and shoes… please no stains, rips, or holes.
•New socks and underwear

All children’s sizes, especially MENS and WOMENS sizes. *Please make sure they are clothes that a teenager would wear!*

•Backpacks and lunch boxes

•New water bottles (leak proof lid)

The OKC Zoo is thrilled to announce that the discount program available for SNAP/EBT/WIC and Tribal WIC card holders has been extended through Septmeber 30, 2023! Families that present a valid SNAP/EBT/WIC card or Tribal WIC card and a valid photo ID will receive discounted general daytime admission for themselves and up to 3 additional guests, 4 total, for $3 per guest. Through this promotion, we are excited to connect more Oklahomans with the world’s wildlife and wild places.

We received an update on infant formula that I thought I would share:

AWG's warehouse has Ge**er Gentle back in stock, so Gentle, Soothe and Soy should be available at stores supplied by AWG. Unfortunately, Walmart's ordering process seems to still be resulting in restocking issues. Therefore, if participants are having difficulties finding their formula at Walmart, they should check at other stores in their area. Target is also not suppled by AWG and may not be back up to stock.

Its going to take a little longer to get specialty formulas back - hopefully beginning of June.

Most stores are limiting the amount of formula you can buy at one time, this is to help reduce the shortage.
