Selah School District Welcome to the Selah School District. Our District serves approximately 3,600 students in grades K-12. The Selah School District includes five campuses.

Selah Schools serve over 3,600 students and include an early learning campus, primary school, an intermediate school, a middle school, a high school, and alternative educational programs. The District has an early learning center which includes preschool and kindergarten facilities. John Campbell Primary School serve students in grades first and second, while Selah Intermediate School houses learners in grades three, four, and five. Selah Middle School serves sixth, seventh and eighth grade students while Selah High School consists of grades nine through twelve. Additionally, Selah Academy is an alternative educational campus which showcases the Big Picture Learning Program, Selah Online and Selah Homelink. The goal of the Selah School District is to provide equitable and quality educational opportunities while working in partnership with students, parents, and the community to inspire a culture of life-long learning.

New voices will be heard at the board table this year as two Selah High School juniors step into their roles as student representatives on the District's Board of Directors.

Addison Blanchard and Mattilyne Dhane, were selected as the newest student representatives and will serve a two-year term. They were seated at last night’s board meeting. They join senior representatives, Aliana Barajas and Mirian Carlson.

Addison says she wants to serve the Board because she hopes to make a difference in her school and for her peers. Addison also believes it is important for the Board to hear directly from students and understand their perspectives.

Mattilyne hopes to help students better understand how school board decisions affect their daily lives while bringing student values, concerns, and priorities to the Board. She says her ability to connect with people from different backgrounds and perspectives will help her serve as a bridge between students and the Board.

Student representatives have served on the school board since 2010. Their role is to provide student insight and perspective to the Board and administration, helping ensure student voices are part of the conversation.

As a reminder, tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, is another opportunity to support Project 700 at MODS Pizza on South First Street!

This winter, the Selah School District is once again teaming up with the Salvation Army to provide winter clothing for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Every purchase and every bit of support helps make a difference for local kids as we head into the colder months.

Come out tomorrow, grab some pizza, show your support, and help make sure Selah students have what they need to stay warm this winter!

It’s time for boys and girls in grades 3-8 to get their football game faces on as they are invited to hit the field for the Vikings Football Mini-Camp!

The mini-camp will be held Wednesday, September 30 & Thursday, October 1, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Karl Graf Stadium at Selah High School. It’s an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, have fun and learn the game from our Vikings who play under Friday night lights!

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Every day counts and developing good attendance habits is not only a great way to kick-off the school year, but something to continue all year long.

Selah Middle School students are discovering that science is cool—and they don’t have to look any further than home.

Students in Mr. Wilson’s science class have been studying ecosystems and habitats, starting with a simple question: What makes a habitat a habitat?

During their studies, they learned that every habitat provides four essential resources: food, water, shelter and air. Then came the challenge—proving that their own homes are habitats.

With posters, creative models and plenty of imagination, students put their science knowledge to work. Some even extended the challenge building with Legos, shoeboxes, Minecraft or 3D printing. All had fun showing how their homes provide everything a habitat needs.

Now, these young scientists are expanding their knowledge, taking what they learned at home and applying it to the habitats of other organisms.

The outcome: Science is definitely cool when you find it at home!

We were so excited to get the music started… we got a little ahead of ourselves!

A quick correction to our Activities Calendar: the Sunfair Parade is NOT tomorrow, Saturday, September 19. Our Selah High School and Selah Middle School bands will be marching down the parade route next Saturday, September 26! We can’t wait to hear the music!

We apologize for the calendar mix-up and any confusion it may have caused. We’ll see you September 26, on Yakima Avenue for some Viking music and Sunfair fun!

Another Year of Volleyball Under the Thursday Night Lights!

For the second year in a row, Selah Volleyball took the game outside and under the bright lights at Karl Graf Stadium—and once again, the Vikings electrified the home crowd, giving them plenty to cheer about!

With a packed stadium, an incredible atmosphere and a Viking victory over the West Valley Rams, it was another unforgettable night under the Thursday night lights!

Calen Wuitschick Named WIAA Athlete of the Week!

Talk about making an opening statement!

Congratulations to Selah High School senior, Calen Wuitschick, who has been named WIAA/Gesa Credit Union Athlete of the Week for the week of September 6-12. Wuitschick earned the honor following his outstanding performance in the Vikings’ Week 1 matchup with Ephrata.

The award is designed to honor student-athletes across the state for their outstanding performances and impactful contributions in their communities.

In the Vikings’ matchup with Ephrata, Calen totaled an impressive 261 yards and four touchdowns — rushing for 219 yards and three touchdowns, while adding five receptions for 42 yards and another score!

Way to go, Calen! We’re proud to see you earn this well-deserved recognition.

We’ll be cheering on Calen and the rest of the Viking Football Team as they travel to Othello this evening for a Week 3 match-up!
