The Selbyville Police Department is proud to announce that we have earned state accreditation through the Delaware Police Accreditation Commission (DPAC).
This accomplishment represents our department’s commitment to excellence, professionalism, and accountability, having successfully met more than 100 rigorous standards. Achieving accreditation reflects the dedication of our officers and staff to providing the highest level of service to our community.
We extend our sincere thanks to Chief Wilson and Captain Parsons for their exceptional leadership, hard work, and unwavering dedication throughout this process. Their efforts were instrumental in reaching this important milestone.
We remain committed to upholding these standards as we continue serving the Town of Selbyville with integrity and pride.

The Town of Selbyville Police Department has earned state accreditation through the Delaware Police Accreditation Commission (DPAC).

The DPAC commission, formed in 2008, is committed to advancing law enforcement professionalism through the establishment of professional standards and the administration of formal mechanisms that enable Delaware police agencies to be systematically measured, evaluated, and updated.

State accreditation requires a commitment to excellence and determination. The agency embraced the challenge and completed the process to meet more than 100 professional standards.

A state law, which I voted in favor of, requires all law enforcement agencies to be accredited by 2028. Several larger agencies receive national accreditation through The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). While most of the small agencies do not have the funding or the personnel to participate in CALEA, they can still achieve state accreditation.

🚨 Scam Alert: Phone Calls Impersonating Law Enforcement 🚨

The Selbyville Police Department wants to alert our community about a phone scam involving callers spoofing the numbers of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Selbyville Police Department.

These calls are fraudulent and may attempt to pressure you for personal information or money. Similar scams have been reported in nearby areas.

***What you should do:
-Do not give out personal information or payment over the phone.
-Hang up immediately if the call feels suspicious.
-Remember: law enforcement will never demand money or threaten arrest over the phone.
-Report any suspicious calls to your local police department.

We encourage everyone to stay alert and share this information with friends and family to help prevent others from becoming victims.

This free program is designed to make traffic stops safer and less stressful for drivers with autism, communication or sensory differences, mobility challenges, or other medical conditions.

The Blue Envelope holds important items like your license, registration, or an emergency care plan. Handing it to an officer during a stop helps share important information quickly, so we can better serve and support our community.

📍 You can pick up a Blue Envelope at the Selbyville Police Department or any Delaware State Police Troop.
