It’s official….GREG RETIRES September 25th from the Upshur County Youth Camp. His health has become a priority. Greg had hip replacement and back issues but was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis almost two years ago. It is an autoimmune disease affecting nerves and muscles. He is 62 now and can retire, so we chose this so he can relax and enjoy life. We travel to Morgantown every 3-6 months to a specialist who is wonderful. I have been working two full time jobs for almost two years to help with the transition. Our family has been beyond supportive to us both. We love them beyond measure and thank them for all their help and love❤️so far his disease has remained ocular…we can live with that. The progression is unpredictable, and it may never progress hopefully. So he wanted everyone to hear it directly from us. We are very happy and tired…..lol. He plans on helping whomever becomes caretaker anyway he can to keep the 4H Camp going strong. All our love….❤️ and thank you to our workers who kept the camp pristine. You are the real heroes to thank for the camp improvement. We love you all.

The campers are good. Still have power and phone. Everything is fine this morning.

Everyone is safe at Judson’s Baptist Camp. We have rain and roads are flooded in Buckhannon and Weston. All campers are safe. We still have phone and electricity. Just getting lots of calls. The grounds are good and river is at normal level here.

Registration for the Upshur County 4-H Camps is now OPEN!!

Registration deadline for Older Camp and Younger Camp is Friday, May 15th!! (After this date late fees will apply)! Get registered today!

Upshur County 4-H Camps are open to ALL Upshur County Youth. 4-H membership to a club is not required!! (Contact to the office with any questions about end of school conflicts that you may be concerned with)

Older Camp is May 31st to June 5th- Cost is $175🍀
(Open to youth 13 or completing 7th grade to 21 years old)

Registration for Older camp closes May 15th (Late fee will be applied after this date) If 18 or older May 1st is final day, no late registrations will be accepted!

Younger Camp is June 7th to 11th- Cost is $150🍀
(Open to youth 8 years old as of 6/30/25 until 12 years of age)

Discounts for Free and Reduced Lunch, Community Service and
Strawberry Festival Hours could be applied once a participant is verified that they qualify.

In order to register you will need to complete an enrollment for your child/children. This will help eliminate having to fully fill out forms each year and will save time in the long run! They do not need to belong to 4-H to attend, just pick "I don't belong to a club". Once enrollment is completed and approved you will be able to register for camp!
