Yesterday Captain Brooks, Firefighters Barnett and West along of Dixon Engine Company 3 along with several other members of the department ventured out to Massapequa with Engine 12. The Selden Fire Department Community returned the favor standing by for Massapequa Fire Department while there members enjoyed their annual installation dinner and celebrated 116 years of service to their community.

Standing by along with Garden City Fire Department and Bethpage Fire Department we responded to one alarm for a CO activiation.

Thank you to the Chiefs, Officers and members of Massapequa FD for their hospitality.

The Chiefs, Officers and members of Dixon Engine Company Three would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to all for the love and support during this difficult time. Seeing how many people filled the funeral home over the weekend is a true testament to how much Ex Chief Worrell was loved and meant to people. It was truly amazing to see. Thank you to all our neighboring departments who came to pay their respects. Ex Chief Worrell was truly an amazing person and will never be forgotten. Once again thank you all and stay safe.

It is with deep regret that the Chiefs, Officers and members of Dixon Engine Co 3 announce that 48 year member Ex Chief Sean Worrell has answered his last alarm. Ex Chief Worrell was the epitome of what it meant to be a member of Dixon Engine Co 3. He was always ready to assist the company in what ever needed to be done. Sean had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand or an ear to listen when ever someone needed it. One of his favorite sayings was “Company three strong”, and he lived that everyday. Our hearts ache for his wife, children and his family. Sean was a larger than life Irishman who spent many years in the Suffolk PD pipe band playing the pipes. I’m sure Sean was playing the pipes today as he was met by loved ones who have gone before him.

Brush 10 and GI 9 are currently manned at headquarters and ready for what ever todays winter storm Fern brings. Selden FD Fire and EMS members have currently been on standby since 10am ready to serve our community.
